Chapter 1) Sleepy Hollow
Van Helsing glanced walked up the church steps, and went into the usual little boxed room.
"Bless me father, for I have-"
"Sinned. Yes, yes, we all know the story. How is it that whenever you get back its always after you've sinned?" Van Helsing sighed, and then asked,
"I have another mission don't I?"
"How brilliant the young mind is." The old man remarked, and the door behind them opened. They started walking in the room, with all the people working and talking; some even yelling.
"What's my mission this time?" Van Helsing asked.
"Your mission is to go to a little village called Sleepy Hollow."
"Sleepy Hollow?"
"Yes. All the villagers are being murdered there, and in a most usual way."
"How so?"
"They have their heads chopped off. And their bodies are found without their heads. Everyone there is getting despreate, and there is not that many people left in the village. They have requested that the best be sent out to discover who is behind these murders. And I have recommended you."
"All right. Who's going with me?"
"Carl. Although he does not yet know it, and I think it would be best if you told him." Van Helsing grinned, remembering the time they went on their last mission, and Carl hadn't wanted to go. When they had gotten back, he had been promoted to feild man, and had been given the oppertunity to remain a friar also. Carl had readily said that the only time he would go outside is that if there was no one else to spare. They had agreed to his requests.
"Very well. Where is he?" Van Helsing asked.
"He is busy in his room, studying something that he has been looking over for the past few weeks. He has not been working on anything else, and it is starting to worry me." Van Helsing considered this.
"I guess I'd better go and say 'hello' then, shouldn't I?" He replied, and the preist gave him a smile.
"You do that. You will both leave later this evening, so make sure the both of you are ready." The preist replied, and Van Helsing went off to go and get Carl.
"May God be with you both."
