Artemis Fowl was, for the first time he could remember, bored. It was 3 months since he was ressurected from the dead and h had been under close watch since then. This meant Butler did not once allow his young charge out of his sight. Currently they were in the library, yet Artemis had yet to actually choose a book to read. Butler watched him browse the shelves over and over, but nothing seemed to be able to capture the young genius' eye. Since Artemis had been brought back fro the dead, Butler had noticed a few changes about his charge. Artemis was eating less, picking at his food during meals, yet he drank a lot more. Butler was constantly restocking the manors supply of fresh spring water, irish of course. Before Artemis would always be up at the crack of dawn, not Butler would be lucky to see him before 9am. The first week Butler thought that it was simply the clone's way of adjusting, however now he was beginning to have doubts. Those doubts were confirmed when Artemis seemed to struggle keeping up his intellectual jargon, his IQ seemed to have decreased rapidly. Butler wasn't the only one who was beginning to feel doubtful. The twins, who were at first estatic to get their older brother back, now avoided him as much as they could. Artemis senior watched his son with a curl of distaste in his handsome features, sometimes openly ignoring questions asked from the boy. Angeline tried her hardest for a long time to pretend that everything would work out. But even she had to wake up to reality. Butler was broke out of his thoughts by a gentle snore and for a moment of panic he realised Artemis was no longer in his line of sight. He relaxed up seeing him curled on the floor, fast asleep. Butler picked him up, worrying aout the boy's light weight, and carried him to his room. After tucking th boy under the covers, he sat back and simply watched him sleep for a while, reassured by the steady rise and fall of the boys chest.

Holly Short had just finished her shift and was walking home when her transmitter went off. She frowned upon seeing the caller ID. "Butler, how's it going big guy?" she asked light-heartedly.

"somethings wrong with artemis" Butler replied. Holly felt her heart quicken in response. She hadn't been able to get clearence to go to the surface since that day and she panicked, thinking the worse.

"Is he hurt? What's wrong?" She blurted, later she would kick herself for losing her composure so quickly.

"I don't know. He's not hurt, but I'm worried aboout him Holly. Please come quickly, and bring Foaly if you can." Holly didn't even need to think about her answer.

"Give me an hour."
