So I have begun to rewrite this story I have finally outlined it so I actually know vaguely where it's going. I apologize that the chapter is short. I hope you enjoy it. Please tell me your thoughts on this new improved chapter. I changed around her character and her past. My writing style. Lots of stuff. Now, as usual, I own nothing but Ann and my plot. If you have any requests, comments, concerns, help, anything like that I am definitely open to comments and PMs. Thank you!
Today is the new start she needed. She moved to Forks, Washington to find her last living relative. She had tried to call the home phone a few times to warn them of her arrival but no-one had answered. So she guessed she would just surprise them. Though in case they didn't want her to live with them she reserved a room in a Port Angeles hotel for a pay by night basis with her savings. She got over her jet lag yesterday so today she is going to school.
She had showered using rose scented 3 in 1 Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Her outfit for today consisted of her favorite pair of distressed boot cut blue jeans with an old Keith Urban tee shirt under her favorite dark blue oversized hoodie and her well worn in sketchers. She had her short platinum blonde hair in low pigtails and her bangs almost covering her eyes. She checked in her mirror one last time and decided she looked presentable. She left the bathroom grabbed her bookbag and keys. She turned out the lights and locked the doors. She hopped in her '95 Mustang 'Baby' and off to school she went.
After she got her note and a list of classes from the nice lady in the office who just kept complimenting her on how gifted she was, she headed to her homeroom, Ms. Wells. Which was also her First period Math class. She took a deep breath at the door standing in the hallway as the teacher was doing a roll call. She didn't want to go in everyone would look at her and she'd mess up and embarrass herself. She was about to turn around when she heard "Annie White?" The teacher turned her head and looked toward the door. "Miss, are you Annie?" The girl nodded. "Well get in here then, they won't know who you are if you don't introduce yourself." She grasped her books tighter and walked into the classroom. With all eyes on her, she wanted to melt into the whiteboard. "Well go on." The teacher smiled encouragingly.
"H-hi. My name is Annie but I prefer to go by Ann. I am a transfer student from North Carolina. I will be graduating with you." Ann said in her thick Appalachian accent. Ms. Wells smiled at her warmly. "You can sit in that free chair right over there. Mr. Hale, can you please raise your hand a bit? Right next to him Ann." "Yes, ma'am." She followed the teachers instructions and sat next to the boy.
She set the appropriate books and supplies down waiting for class to start. She glanced over at the boy his golden hair almost reaching the collar of his dress shirt. His jawline was sharp, his skin crazy pale and clear. His sharp nose contrasted his cheekbones nicely. His lips upturned in a friendly smile. His Topaz eyes met her Sapphire ones. She blushed considering he just watched her check him out. "Hi, I'm very sorry I didn't mean to stare like that. It's just you are so beautiful, has anyone ever told you that? What am I saying of course they have. I'm rambling, aren't I? I apologize. Let's start over. Rewind, Hi as you know I'm Ann. Nice to meet you." She chuckled and held out her hand. It was shaking a bit from nervousness. Wondering if he thought she was a total weirdo because of her little diarrhea of the mouth moment.
He looked into her beautiful deep blue eyes and was lost until he felt her nervousness, discomfort, with a hint of self-loathing. "Hello Ann, it's nice ta meetcha Darlin'." He took her hand and shook it. Relief washed over him. She took a small breath and tried to focus on class taking little peeks at him when she thought he wasn't looking. He, on the other hand, was studying her. She looked to be about 15 which was odd. She is a senior like him. She was focused intensely on the work she was given. Ms. Wells gave us a pop quiz today, and she finished in a third of the time. He watched her go back and check every answer. When she decided she got them right she pulled out a piece of printer paper and started doodling. When the tests were taken up the doodle she had been working on had an uncanny resemblance to him. Her style obviously based on Japanese animation.
When the bell rang she quickly crumpled up the paper and throw it in her bag like she didn't want anyone to see it. "B-bye, see you later Mr. Hale?" He smirked at her nervous antics. "Please call me Jasper." He turned to walk out the door. "J-Jasper?" He turned back to face her like the respectable southern gentleman he is. "I'll see you later right?" "Of course. At lunch then?" She nodded. He left for World History. She turned back to the table. 'Huh. That wasn't so bad.' She thought unaware of the small smile that appeared on her face. Then walked out the door to English class.
I have already started chapter two and know what I'm doing with it so I should have it out within the next week. See ya next time! Bye!
