One-Shot: I Kissed a Girl (And I Liked It)

The Hob is raucous tonight. And even though I never go out much and can be a pretty reserved person, the alcohol and dancing has loosened my tongue. I can appreciate a good old-fashioned hoedown if it is effective in driving us poor folk in District 12 farther and farther away from our troubles.

Right now, I am engaged in a drinking contest with Purnia. She is a striking, red haired Peacekeeper whom I now many of the men in the Seam would pay handsomely for her company. Especially now, when she is in such a dynamic element, commanding the room with only her voice.

"OK, Everdeen... keg of bourbon! If you win, you get to take off one article of my uniform."

I smirk. Some striptease. Not bad. "And if you win, Purnia?"

She stares at me, eyes full of mirth. "You have to kiss me. With tongue."

The men hoot and holler and shout for us to begin the chugging contest.

I have been able to hold my liquor. So of course, I lose. The men have only just started to laugh. I don't even have time to wipe the liquid from my face before Purnia is pulling me into her arms and slamming her lips into mine.

It's the first time I've kissed someone of the same sex. Hell, it's the first time I've kissed anyone of any sex. But nevertheless, I do my best to sell it. When Purnia's tongue probes my mouth, I open up to her with little resistance and he tongue squirms down my throat. I close my eyes and my arms clutch her closer, deeply kissing her back. Soon, we are making out.

From my peripheral vision, I can see many of the men whooping it up and wolf-whistling. A few look jealous, complete with potent bulges in their pants. I don't know what it is about watching two women sucking face, but I guess the boys find it even more arousing than if they were kissing me themselves. I wonder who they are more jealous of, who they wish they were kissing more: Purnia or me?

At long last, Purnia and I wrench apart. Laughing to diffuse the tension, we go right back to drinking and laughing it up.

I kissed a girl. And I liked it.
