They had finally done it.
Many evil monsters were gone, the war between angels and demons was FINALLY over. The world was safe and was free from evil.
Dean looked over to his side and saw his little brother, Sammy laying on the cold hard ground about five feet away. He was bleeding out from a wound on his side. Though Dean couldn't do anything. Dean was also bleeding out from wounds all over his body. If he tried to stand up, the pain would get worse and he would bleed out before he could actually do anything to help him. So, Dean just called over to Sam. "Sammy?" He asked with a rusty voice. "Sammy, you with me?"
He was replied with a soft, "Yeah. I'm here." That was all he needed before he crawled his way right beside his brother. He wrapped an arm around his shoulders and allowed Sam's head to rest on his. The two brothers breathed uneven breaths. There was about four seconds of silence before Dean started to sing.
"H-Hey Jude," He started off weakly. Though he still continued nonetheless. "Don't make it bad, Take a sad song and make it better..." Dean felt wet tears fall down his face already. With memories of all those nights his mom would sing to him to sleep with this song. It only felt right to die singing it to himself and his brother.
"Remember to let her into your heart. Then you can start to make it better.
Hey Jude, Don't be afraid
You were made to go out and get her.
The minute you let her under your skin,
Then you begin to make it better"
Dean stopped to try and catch his breath. When he finally got it some-what under control, he pulled Sam closer to him and didn't bother to wipe away the tears that still continued to fall.
"And anytime you feel the pain,
Hey Jude, refrain.
Don't carry the world on your shoulders
For well you know that it's a fool, who plays it cool."
Dean heard a short chuckle escape his younger brother's lips. Dean couldn't help but smile softly at that verse as well. He then began singing the 'na na's in the song weakly and off pitch but, he really didn't care. He focused more on finishing the song. Yet, when he was about to begin the next verse, he felt Sam's body go limp and motionless. He forced down a sob and just held Sam really close to him. He wrapped both his arms around him and kissed him softly on the top of his head.
"Hey Jude, don't let me down,
You have found her, now go and get her.
Remember to let her in your heart.
Then you can start to make it better.
So let it out and let it in,
Hey Jude, begin.
You're waiting for someone to preform with,
and don't you know that it's just you,
Hey Jude, You'll do.
The movement you need is on your shoulder"
Dean suddenly saw a bright light come out from the sky. He looked up and saw his mom and Castiel with Ash and Sam behind them. Dean took a look at his mother's hand that reached out to him.He grabbed it and was pulled up to his feet. That's when Mary began singing to him. Her voice still sounded as soft and sweet as he remembered it.
Hey Jude, don't make it bad.
Take a sad song, and make it better.
Remember to let her under your skin
When you begin to make it better,
Better, Better, Better, Better
And with that Dean disappeared into the light, leaving the world behind for the very last time.
