The Death of Time

The tears are flowing from my face.

I weep, but what is wrong?

They all ask me

And I reply "There's nothing wrong."

And then they say "But you are crying!

And the tears! There are so many!

They stain your face and leave their marks,

They are like scars upon your face,

Your many beautiful features.

So why do you cry, oh beautiful lady?"

I say "I cry because I won. I fought and fought and then I won.

I won my life, my happiness. I triumphed over time.

For time is the one evil-doer,

The one who wishes ill upon

You and your friends

And family

Of all who live on earth.

I ask myself "Why did Shakespeare die?"

And answered "Because time made him."

And asked again "Why do they cry?"

Answer: Time took their true loves

Far away from where they used to be.

Why do I cry?

What did I do?

I cry of joy,

I killed all time.
