"The day I met him was the day my life had meaning."

Now it has been stripped away, like my dignity, my status, and most of all, his life. He was my lover and my life. We tried not to have love for each other. But like Mrs. Anna said",love will find a way."His name was Lun Tha. I met him when he was chosen to travel with me from Burma to Siam. He is gone now, deceased.

He took me to the King's palace. Unfortunately, the king was pleased with me. Then I met Mrs. Anna. She was from England and came to be the palace teacher to educate the childen in westen ways. She helped us betogether again. I was most pleased.

But then the King's first and head wife, Chang, spotted me with Lun Tha. She told me that a concubine has to need for other man when she has king, earlier. She knew I loved him from the start. She can tell these things, because she loves the king the same way I love Lun Tha. She was jealous of me being the king's favorite mistress. The wives and other concubines do not like me.

Now king is angry. Because of two reasons. I no longer wanted to be a slave of his lust. I wanted to be free. I wrote a play of the Small House of Uncle Thomas by Harriet Beecha Stowa. Is about poor Eliza escaping to the small house from wicked Simon of Legree. He took insult and confined with Mrs. Anna. Lun Tha and I disguised ourselves as priest and fled on to Chinese ship.

We were caught and Lun Tha escaped in to river. I was brought back to palace in shame. I was interrogated and nearly tortured. Mrs. Anna stoped the King from beating me.

The Phra Alack burst through the door. My Lun Tha is dead. The pain was worse than a whip. Mrs. Anna called King a barbarian. This hurt King and he did not beat me. He left the room and I was carried off.

When I was brought there, I found out I was to be beheaded for adultery and treason. I was brought up to a platform and I fell to my knees and I counted until I felt the cold sword against my flesh.

"Together, forever... Lun Tha."
