Hi, friends! It has been quite a while since I posted something, but after I got past my ugly crying at the season finale, I am filled with new ideas! This is going to be a bunch of little baby ficlets about Cas adjusting to human life with Dean's help. These are from my tumblr, which I just got and am super excited about! .com :) Follow me if you like, and as always, enjoy!
When Dean found Cas, the man was holding himself against a tree with one hand and holding his stomach with the other. He was physically sick, something Cas had never experienced before. Something that scared Cas more than it should. When he looked up at Dean, there was a look of pure fear in his watering blue eyes. He opened and closed his mouth, struggling for words, before wiping his chapped lips with the sleeve of his trench coat.
"I—" He croaked, but his voice caught and he shook his head, not understanding why his throat closed, why he couldn't speak, why his chest was tight. Without words, Dean stepped towards the human and wrapped his arms around him, with one hand on the back of Cas's head and the other tight across his back. Cas was trembling so badly Dean wanted to cry. He forgot all of his anger. He forgot the countless times Cas left him, Dean calling into the empty air. He forgot everything bad that ever happened between them and just held his scared, lost, shaking friend.
Because right now, nothing else mattered to Dean but that quiet, crying human.
