"Remus! Remus! Did you see me?"

Sirius bounded up and down, he'd just scored his first successful point against James in a Quidditch practise.

Sat on the bench, paying more attention to his book, Remus nodded and smiled, "Yes, Sirius, I saw you."

"Remus! Did you see me?"

Sirius sat up, one eye slightly swollen from a duel he'd had with Regulus.

Tutting, Remus nodded, "Yes, Sirius. I saw you."

"Oi!"

A ball of paper hit Remus squarely on the nose. Their essays had just been marked and returned, Sirius' brandishing a great '17/20' though he'd done it without assistance from Remus.

"I've seen it, I've seen it!"

"Holy shit - Remus, did you see that?"

Sirius had just conned a Ravenclaw sixth year girl into delivering his first kiss.

Rolling his eyes, Remus chuckled, "Yes, Sirius. I saw that."

"Umm..."

Sirius was hesitant at the door to the hospital wing.

"I saw what you did," for the first time ever, Remus turned away from his friend. Former friend. The prank against Snape just wasn't funny in the slightest.

"Look at that! We've done it!"

Clutching his graduation papers, Sirius raised his first Firewhiskey to Remus'.

"Really? I hadn't noticed," Remus joked, tipping his tumbler to the others.

"Crikey. Did you see that?"

It was a near miss as they fought alongside Aurors in their first Order mission.

Disbelieving, and breathless, Remus nodded. His pallor was ghostly white.

"Yes...I saw it."

"So, how much of that did you see?"

Sirius asked in a letter to his good friend, despite twelve years apart. Reading, Remus laughed freely for the first time in a while.

He'd seen Sirius' escape on buckbeak. Albeit in a pensieve, but he'd been sure to see it.

"Is there any chance you saw me on the telev-"

Another of the wanted posters floated by in the wind at Hogsmeade.

"Sirius, the whole world knows who you are." Remus chuckled despite himself.

Scooting over in the kitchen at Grimmauld Place, Sirius elbowed Remus.

"Did you see that?"

He had just had an immature argument with Snape - in front of Harry.

"Yes," Remus replied with a Molly-like sternness, "Yes I did just see that."

"Hey Remus! I just saved Harry. Did you see that? Remus?"

The thin veil did everything to stop Remus seeing Sirius for one last time.

So no.

After that...

...Remus never saw him again.
