Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto or any of the characters used in this story, because we all know that if I did I would screw it up :p
She stares silently looking at a darkening sky, a sky promising rain.
She sits on the ground wondering why she should get up this time.
No answer comes. It's like this every time she comes to this place. Every time she wonders why she should pick herself up again.
She never told anyone that she came here, she didn't see why she should. There was no one left to tell anyway. Naruto and Sasuke had left her. Finding comfort in each other, finding closure in something that she would never understand. It was better just to cut off what was left of their friendship, for her it was better to quit while she was ahead rather then get hurt. Kakashi was gone before he had even arrived, because he had been broken so long ago. And she couldn't find the bits and pieces of his heart.
So she kept her head held high just in case they glanced her way. Because in a small corner of her mind she didn't want them to worry. Though another part of her asked why they would.
She kept going, she kept training. She kept getting stronger. And she tried. (Oh, how she desperately tried). To keep out of their way, because she didn't need them to watch her. Because she didn't need to watch their backs.
It didn't make it any less hard when she saw them, walking down the street together. Naruto yelling out about ramen and Sasuke looking indifferent, and it made her remember when she would walk with them. (Even though she knows that those days are long over with). But then they would get closer, they would spot her standing there, Naruto would raise his hand and open his mouth as if to yell her name, Sasuke would lock his eyes on her as if to make her stand there just a moment more so that they could make it to her this time. (They never did). She would turn away quickly and lose herself in the crowd.
Because she wasn't theirs anymore.
At times she wants to run to them. But then she remembers that they have each other now. (They had always had each other).
She sees their faces everywhere she goes, because they are heroes. Because they are strong. (They don't see that she is strong too).
And when the rain starts to fall, like the tears she can't cry, she remembers why she let them go. She remembers why she has to stand.
Because they didn't need her. Because she loved them.
(And if you love something, let it go.)
Please Read and Review it makes me much happier when you do!
