Run

It takes a ninja three days to get from Konoha to Suna on foot. If Rock Lee really pushed himself, he could do it in a day and a half. That in mind, he was running headlong through the night, forcing himself forward despite the screaming pain in his legs. If he kept going, he might be able to make Suna by dawn. The rational, logical part of Lee was telling him to stop, that he needed to rest or he would kill himself. Oddly enough, that inner voice sounded a lot like Sakura-chan when she yelled at him for training too hard. He pushed that voice aside, mentally apologizing to the pink haired medic.

Lee couldn't stop, couldn't rest, couldn't even slow down. If he did, he would be able to think. If he let himself think, then he might change his mind. The cowardly part of him might take over.

So instead, Lee was running long after he felt like he was going to collapse. His entire being was focused on moving forward, getting to Suna as fast as he possibly could. There was no room in his mind for thought, and that was how Lee wanted it. This way, he couldn't talk himself out of telling Gaara that he loved him.

Lee made it to Suna in record time, barely managing to stay conscious as he explained to the guards that he needed to see the Kazekage. Seeing the exhausted, dehydrated and half-dead taijutsu specialist insist that he needed to speak with the Kazekage before he could rest was more than enough to convince the guards to teleport him to the tower, directly in front of Gaara's office.

Lee forced his arm to rise, to knock on the door. "Kazekage-sama!" he said, his voice hoarse, throat dry from dehydration. The door opened, and Lee fell over, not realizing he had been leaning on the door for support. From the ground, he looked up at Gaara. That cowardly voice urged Lee to back out, but he refused. This was his chance. He had run what felt like a thousand miles to do this. "Kazekage-sama, I love you!" Lee cried, before giving into his exhaustion and falling unconscious.

AN: Just a little GaaLee interpretation of I'm gonna be (500 miles) I've had this in my head for a while, and decided to finally write it down. I might do a longer version of this, or maybe a few more shorts with this basis, I'm not sure. As usual reviews make me happier than Lee when he gets to learn a new technique.
