Prologue

She found herself drowning within her subconscious again. These days, she would always go back to that world, to C's world, and puzzlingly as the days pass, there was an image that was starting to get clearer.

This was the 5th day.

She slowly opened her eyes, and what stood in front of her was herself, but that wasn't her nor was it a part of the collection of her memories stacked on C's world. Her calm disposition remained and she stood straight motioning her reflection to move first.

And her reflection smiled.

"I'm here to fulfil your wish," it said.

She let out a soft chuckle and her reflection rose an eyebrow.

"Why?" C.C asked deadpan.

"Because I'm God, and that person asked me so,"

"I'm so honoured to receive your service," she curtsied and couldn't help to throw a small laugh. "Then will you bring him back to life?"

"That I can't"

"So much for being a God," she half-expected that.

"The dead can't be brought to life," God managed to say. "You are very sad," God blurted out.

"Pitying me?" C.C looked sadly.

"My dear, I pity everyone," God walked a step towards her, and held her hand. "I will give you 'chances'"

"I've had enough of that already in this lifetime,"

"Not enough of seeing him alive though,"

"And I thought the dead could not be brought to life. What will you do to me? Lock me up on my old memories of him?"

"Hardly. Creating new memories sound more appealing,"

"Different dimensions, different lives, different encounters, but same fate. You are bound to meet him – again and again – for every dimension there exists your beloved. You will certainly be connected to him, after all that's your fate,"

"But my fate dictates to be separated from him, what is the catch of your so-called gift then?"

"You will never have a forever,"

"Just like your fate, you are bound to be separated, after all, you were never a part of that dimension, of that life. You will have the power to move through dimensions by your own will, and you will encounter him all over again, but that person you'll encounter will be a new person. A person who is not aware of your existence and your importance,"

"What if I stay?"

"You can't and you musn't. People are bound to forget your existence . You are merely replacing, for a short amount of time, 'yourself' within that world. Your existence itself strains the balance of their world - you're a threat and nothing more than a ghost,"

"How long can I stay then?"

"That I do not know. Every world is different after all,"

"You are a very cruel God,"

"I get that a lot"

"But even if you're cruel, the thought of living on this world forever without him is more painful. How pitiful,"

God didn't answer, and C.C holds out her hand signalling her acceptance of God's gift.

"I guess witches are not really fated to have happy endings,"
