AN: I got this idea, when I was reading a story, on this site and like it just popped in my head, and I got thinking about Sophia ( and the baby, and how he didn't even pause, just picked her up and smiled) and yeah, this came outta it. I'm considering making it a longer story, and not just an oneshot, because personally I really like the idea, and I haven't read one story where Daryl has a lill'bro. So tell me what ya think, and I hope you like this shorty. /
"Harrison Ellis Dixon! Get back here right now!" Yelled Daryl, exhausted after all the worrying and now, the running after his little brother. They had just left their house, in the old pickup-truck Daryl had saved up for. His bike and all the bags, on the roof.
They had left, because, Daryl was 18 and had gotten a steady job out of town. He had waited for years to be able to leave, their asshole for a dad, and to be able to find a safe place for his little brother. For both of them.
Ellis squealed, with a bright grin on his face. He ran up to his brother and held out his arms in a demand to be picked up. He would be the first to say that he was childish for his age, 13, but he didn't care. Except the fact that he loved his brother's hugs, he did it because his brother always smiled. Well, smiled in his eyes atleast, even though it was just a small crooked grin that no-one else but Ellis saw.
He knew that not any other kids had scars like his, and he had heard old ladies, "Stupid bitches' what they are" like Daryl would say when he thought Ellis wouldn't hear, gossip about how tiny he was, that they lived in a rundown house and about his dad.
He knew what abuse was, but he also trusted Daryl, with all his heart. He didn't care about his scars, people would see but no-one would know. He remembered every time his brother patched him up, took him hunting even though he was pretty bad at it, hugged him and whispered when they would leave, and where. So he took life with a bright grin, and tears sometimes, and trusted his brother. And here they were, leaving, their old lives, their old house and this old town.
They were still going to live in Georgia of course, and they weren't rich and they didn't have much. But Ellis knew, that this was just a small step to a big beggining, he could wait a little more.
After all, he had his big brother.
"I love ya Daryl"
"Yeh, you too kid"
