Author's note: Kinda inspired on the book "The Shack". Guess this is the best fanfic i wrote so far. hope you like it.
It was already past midnight after a normal day of autumn, when Levi decided to tell her.
The drops of water were falling slightly from the dark sky above and reaching silently the grassy ground when he began to tell her about his past, starting by the underground, that little piece of hell in the Earth, where he was born and raised.
As he told her about his mother, a loving and kind woman, who had to sell her own body just to be sure they would have something to eat the next day, and yet ended up dead from illness; he felt her hold on his cold hand tightens.
He told her about the man who rescued him after his mother died, and how harshly he used to train him. He was beat up countless times, he said, just to become stronger to survive by his own in the underground. And after all the tough training and the non- caring treatment he has received from the old man, he just left him, without a warning, without a reason, without a family.
The rain got stronger, the thunders started to roar and the landscapes were lighted up by the lightings. It was colder and darker when he started telling her about his crimes, every single one he could remember; like how he used to sneak out in the shadows and stole from the honest ones; and how he used to kill people, stabbing them or slicing up their throats, without hesitating and without mercy. When he slightly looked up just to find a glimpse of deception in her eyes, he thinks that he has never felt so ashamed in his whole life.
He starts to feel kind of nostalgic as he tells her about Farlan and Isabel, how things got a little better when he met them, and all the messes they used to get stuck in; until they were caught by Erwin Smith and dragged to the Survey Corps. He could hear the clashing of the thunders and the rain drops crashing heavily against the ground, and he felt a bitter taste in the back of his throat while telling her how brutally they died in their first expedition outside the walls, just when they had felt what real freedom was like for the first time of their lives. It was about that time when started to cry for a pain that was not even hers.
She hugs him tight and let her tears fall down her cheeks, and he comforts her when it should be her doing that to him. Levi's confused, because he just told her all the bad things he has done in his life, so eventually he asks her if she's not mad at him. And she says yes, because what he's done is horrible, even though he was just trying to survive; but she also says that it doesn't matter anymore, because the mistakes he's made doesn't affect in nothings the love she feels for him.
The rain has stopped and the sun started rising beyond the endless horizon, and it was by that time she kissed him, passionately and tenderly, with all the love she had.
It took Levi the whole night to tell Petra all of his mistakes, and it took her less than five minutes to forgive every single one of them.
