A/N: This is a sweet bit of SS/HG fluff, written for JustCaz, the fiftieth reviewer of my ongoing story, Through New Eyes. Check it out! It's a hilarious ride. Also check out JustCaz's story, Unexpected Circumstances. JustCaz and I share the same OTP, hence the pairing.
This was JustCaz's request:
"I was thinking a Severus/Hermione pairing, (my OTP I will have you know ;))
and I know this scenario has been done to death, but perhaps a kiss under some enchanted mistletoe? Maybe a Christmas party at the Burrow or something, (post-war) and Hermione and Snape get trapped under some enchanted mistletoe. I was hoping that they could get embarrassingly carried away, lost in the moment, but of course that's up to you!"
I hope I did not disappoint!
All your base are belong to J.K. Rowling, as per the usual.
He had to get out of there. He had no idea why he had taken Molly up on her invitation to Christmas dinner. Holiday cheer had never been his thing.
Who are you kidding? You know why you came.
As he all but fled the loaded table and the appreciative gazes of far too many people – they didn't care for you before your true loyalties were made apparent by that loudmouth, Potter – he just managed to suppress a curse as he tripped over something. Staggering slightly, he put out his right arm in an attempt to prevent a fall and keep some semblance of dignity.
His palm connected with the doorway to the kitchen, effectively slowing his momentum, and his gaze was suddenly arrested by the sight of the woman that haunted his dreams.
Chocolate brown eyes looked up at him, limpid and inviting. Arms, slim and perfect, twined around his neck. Rosy red lips parted in unquestionable willingness, and he bent and tasted them for the first time, losing himself in a sea of joy.
Above them, mistletoe berries shone in the dim light above the arched doorway, and the air crackled with something electric as the couple gave themselves up to the lure of ancient magic.
If anyone had been able to tear their eyes from the magical sight of Severus Snape and Hermione Granger wrapped up in each other, they would have seen Minerva McGonagall pull her foot back under the screening curtain of the floor-length tablecloth, and smile with a twinkle worthy of Albus Dumbledore himself.
A/N: Thank you so much for reading! Don't forget to review. :)
