"Can you hear me?" Jonah said by the bed side. It was a cold and dull room. The heart monitor beeped softly. The pink pastel colored petals sat in silence. Joshua was still. Silent. But still breathing.
The elder sibling placed his hands on the blanket.

He held his eyes shut refusing to cry. Men don't cry. Little boys do.

Jonah sniffled and turned to his siblings face. "I don't know if you can hear me." he spoke again. "...I'm sorry." he said finally ignoring that lump in his throat.

He held his head firmly on the bed and sat in silence.

He paused in shock as the heart monitor picked up. Then suddenly... Silence. A long deathly flatline echoed the room.

Jonah watched as his brother's face paled, his last breath escaping. His last heartbeat halting.

Jonah held his hands in his face regretting he'd ever put his brother close to the animatronic. After all these years he actually missed Joshua.

It was his fault Joshua had died. His fault. This guilt was going to haunt him until the day he died. If his brother was still alive... Oh what a miracle that would be... He wouldn't get the guilt.

For the first time in his life, Jonah was scared, he was sad..guilty and terrified.

He swore that one day he'd make it right... Repay his annoying brother's death and destroy anything that had to do with those animatronics.
