"Just keep an eye on the hall while we work on the door," Miller instructed Kane.
"We'll only take a few seconds," Monty added.
"You guys sound like you've done this before," Kane whispered to them, keeping a wary eye on the hall outside Pike's office.
"You could say that," Monty's eyes shifted for half a second from the keypad.
"Usually we're alone when we do this, though," Miller commented.
"We don't usually have the extra eyes to keep lookout."
"Is that so?" Kane asked suspiciously.
"Got it," Monty exclaimed quietly. The door slid open and the three entered.
"Bet you never dreamed of helping us steal something after arresting us on the Ark for stealing, did you?" Miller smiled slyly at Kane.
"Focus, Nathan," Kane looked at him sharply. Miller retreated to Monty's side as Monty himself started looking over Pike's maps on the transparent drawing board.
"Alright, boys. Your turn to take watch," Kane instructed as he made his way closer to the board.
The two rushed to the doorway, peeking out in opposite directions. They turned back to each other and smiled shyly and quickly snapped their heads back to continue their watch. Kane's eyes quickly scanned the board, drinking in the information.
"We've got company," Miller noted quietly as he heard Pike's voice coming down the hall.
"Alright, good work, you two. You make a great team. Now, go that way, quickly and quietly. I'll hold Pike off in case he gets suspicious," Kane joined them at the doorway.
The two broke off down the hall away from Kane and booked it for the Ark exit. They broke out into the sunlight of the outdoors and decided to slow down. Miller turned to Monty and started laughing as the two stopped, bending down to catch their breath.
"Man, what a rush," Miller commented, smiling.
"I'm starting to think that's how things always are when I'm with you," Monty suggested.
"Nothing beats getting your heart pounding," Miller stood up straight. Monty mimicked him and the two started to walk down the path, into the rest of camp.
"Can I get you a drink?" Miller asked.
"Depends, are we going to have to run away afterwards?" Monty teased.
"Maybe something like that," Miller smirked, wrapping an arm over Monty's shoulder.
"Lead the way."
