Disclamer: I do not own Percy Jackson and the Olympians or the Gone series.
Chapter 1
It all had started like a pretty normal day for our favorite demigod, that is until he was sent to check upon the small town Perdido Beach. The gods had felt a strange power there so someone had to be sent to check upon it, so that it wasn't something that brought the end of the world to them. Since Percy had been kicked out of his school after three weeks in school, he was one of few demigods free and so he was chosen for the mission. Percy was not worried about the mission, he had been faced with so many horrible things in his short life that this would be a walk in the park. Percy sat in a cab on his way inte the town, it was way too far to walk and to drive for himself was out of the question since Paul still had trust issues concerning him and the car. Percy didn't understand that, it wasn't his fault that that Blackjack had decided that Paul's car would be ideal place to land on. And so the only options left were cab and pegasi, but in the end he had decided that cab was the better choice.
He passed a sign that read "Welcome to Perdido Beach" and told the driver to drive into the center of the town. When the houses came into view Percy turned to the driver only to be faced with an empty seat. What? Did the driver jump out of the car? But that didn't make any sense, he hadn't heard the door open and the belt buckle was still there but stretched over the empty seat, it was as if he had just vanished. All this crossed Percy's mind in the matter of seconds, soon the car vaulted and although it was a bit confusing in the rolling car he felt fine thanks to the Curse of Achilles. It may be a curse but it sure as hell came handy from time to time. When the car came to a stop Percy kicked the door open and climbed out of the crumbled car. He then faced the way he thought the car was headed and started walking after picking up his luggage and searching the area quickly for the missing driver. Finding no trace of him, Percy started walking a little guilty for not finding the driver but from what he had found so far the driver had just vanished into thin air. In the distant he could hear several car alarms sounding.
