(Hello all, this is the first fanfiction i'm going to actually stick with. Feel free to give feedback and critisize and help me get better! Thanks and enjoy!)
It was a few months after the heroic events of Spyro and Cynder taking down the dark master restoring peace to the Dragon Realms and its people.
Spyro and Cynder were just happy youthful dragons living their lives in the Dragon Temple. The Temple was empty besides Volteer, Cyril and Terridor that is. It was a quiet and peacful summer that year nothing very eventful happening accept alot of rebuilding and peacekeeping. One of those days Spyro and Sparx were sitting next to the pool of visions in the early afternoon.
"Watcha seeing purple boy?" The dragonfly half taunting-half serious asked.
"I see... Aahhh!" Spyro screamed backing away from the portal.
"Whoa whoa whoa! what just happened?!" Sparx said cowering to a corner not knowing what was going on. Spyro panted and looked at the floor obviously shooken by what he has seen.
"It was... Nothing! Haha! you were so scared!" Spyro exclaimed laughing all of the sudden. "Got ya!" Spyro exclaimed still laughing.
"Haha you are so funny... you actually had me scared ya know.." Sparx said obviously annoyed with his friends actions.
"Awww.. im sorry i didn't know you had feelings." Spyro teasingly said, but then started laughing again. The strange set of brothers carried on like this for a few minutes. Cynder also peeked in while they were teasing eachother but dicided to leave them alone and let them have their fun.
(somewhere in the the galaxy...)
A raging war was being fought. The war spanned over five hundred planets and was slowly heading towards the Dragon Realms. It is only a matter of time before the planet is engulfed in this great tragitey...
(Back at the temple)
Everything seemed to have calmed down between Sparx and Spyro. There was going to be a meeting about restoring the forest and jungle that was lost to the war against Malafor and his armies.
"So what do you guys want to do while were waiting?" Cynder asked the two. Spyro, Cynder and Sparx were all laying on their stomachs in a circle outside the Temple later that day, in sparx case he was just hovering next to them.
"I dunno, you choose your the one who is about to flop down and die of boredom" Sparx as usual made his rude comeback. Cynder just lightly snorted at the remark and rolled over onto her back looking into the sky.
"Well we can watch the cloud- never mind there are almost none out today..." Said the dragoness with an increasingly more dissapointed tone throughout the sentance. Spyro was about to fall asleep laying in the sun like he was, then Sparx came over and buzzed in his face.
"Wakie wakie! Get up you big purple bum." Sparx more or less just said to perposly be annoying.
"Why? can I not take a nap in the sun or something?" Spyro replied with one eye open and a yawn afterwards.
"No its just that its a... nice day outside.." Sparx said obviously trying to make an excuse.
"A nice day for a nap." Spyro said laying closing his eyes again.
"Ugh... do you guys ever quit?" Cynder asked with a large amount of annoyance in her voice as she eyed the two.
"No." Spyro and Sparx both said at the same time.
"Sheesh fine then." Cynder said looking away and back at the sky. Cynder sighs and starts to wonder what it would be like to be an adult dragoness one of the only ones alive at the time, or so she thought. She also thought if she and Spyro would have a life together but shook the thought thinking that it won't happen.
"Hey Spyro wanna go and see if Terridor has this set up yet so we can go and do something?" Sparks said flying infront of Spyro's face again.
"Fine then if you want to see if hes ready go ask him yourself." Spyro replied not even batting an eye this time.
"Fine then maybe i will!" Sparx semi shouted at them crossing his arms.
"Sparx just go away!" Cynder yelled anger clear in her voice as she sat up and gave him a death stare.
"Ok Ok Ok i'm going sheesh lady." Sparx said back in an almost scared sounding voice as he scurried off to find Terridor.
"Thank the Ancestors... another minute and i would of dropped dead" The dragoness stated obviously relieved. Cynder then rolled over on to her stomach next Spyro and started to snuggle with him.
"I think a nap does sound nice right about now..." Cynder said slowly closing her eyes then she let out a yawn.
"mmhmm." Spyro just mumbled only paying half attention to her. They both snuggled together and started to drift to sleep from the warm rays of the sun and the wildlife singing them them a natural lullaby. Sparx would come back to tell them that Terridor was still was trying to send out messages to the cheetahs but saw the dragons were asleep and for once in his life decided not to disturb them.
(Somewhere in the galaxy...)
In the few minutes that this everyday event occured almost fifty-thousand had died in the struggle for a planet in one of the bloodiest battles so far in the war. This battle will continue to send men to their deaths until one side decides to give up but until then millions shall loose their life to that galactic struggle.
(Later that day at the temple after the meeting)
"You three just go rest up now we should be able to handle planting a few seeds." Terridor said in his normal deep voice as he walked away back into the meeting room of the temple.
"Phew lucky us i guess." The small dragonfly said to his companions.
"Well i honestly wouldn't mind doing some work. There is almost nothing to do around here." Spyro told Sparx in a tired and annoyed voice.
"Well you can go back to bed... I would'nt mind some sleep myself." Sparx said with a yawn and a streach while buzzing around the two dragon's heads.
"That doesn't sound to bad of an idea to me either" Cynder said butting her way in.
"Well it's almost dark so lets get going back to the dorms" Spyro said as he looked to the half-blue half-orange sky and the bright yellow sun clipping the horizen. The two dragons and the dragonfly set off for the dorms and talked along the way nothing being said along the way. Spyro almost trippped along the way on the rocky pathway in the temple but gained back his balance but Sparx had to laugh at him and break the silence they had going.
"And what exactly did i do that was so funny Sparx?" Spyro asked and played it pff as if nothing happened.
"Come on don't be like that. You know you almost faceplanted." Sparx reminded Spyro in a jokingly way as he got up in his face and looked into his purple eyes.
Spyro just grunted and Cynder chuckled a bit at his grumpyness and rolled her eyes. She then whispered to herself. "Boys..."
The group set off again and reached the dorm room where they slept, though they had there own rooms they prefered to sleep in the dorms in hotter weather because it can get quite hot in a small room with no sort of cooling mechanism compared to the open sleeping area where they could catch a breeze if they opened the windows.
"Well lets get some sleep my friends. It's been what feels like the longest day ever to me." Spyro called out to no one in particular as he walked twords the large circular pillow he and Cynder slept on. Cynder soon followed Spyro and Sparx went to lay down on a smaller pillow than the dragons had. Sparx almost immediatly fell asleep while the two young dragons cuddled together on their small space. Cynder once again thought about what it would be like as an adult but that thought was chased out of her head by what her past self was like, seeing all of her victems faces as she killed them. She wimpered silently about this and tried to think of something else that would leave her night on a more happy note, like what Flame and Ember were out doing but thought of the worst outcome they could have. She started to quietly cry at this point not able to shake her thoughts so she just tried to focus on sleeping and nothing else. Spyro was just thinking of just about everything from why Volteer talks so much to why his shoulder was wet... wait why his shoulder was wet? Spyro poped his head up and looked at Cynder as she silently weeped on him.
"Cyn... what is wrong? Please tell me its nothing too bad." Spyro whispered to her as he started to wipe her eyes with his claw.
"I-its nothing... don't worry about it... just thinking about my past." Cynder said in a more stern but soft tone not thinking he would notice her crying.
"Cynder don't think about your past. And tell me qhen something is bothering you... im always here for you." Spyro whispered softly into her ear again trying to confort her. He started to lick her head to try and comfort her and help her relax and it helped her a small bit as Cynder's muscles loosened up on her head from the strain of crying.
"Okay... i just wish these thoughts would dissapear from my head." Cynder quietly told him as she started to hug him and close her eyes.
"Well... they will never leave you as long as you don't let them. You have to move on... But for now think of happy things and go to sleep." Spyro told her taking a break from the licking to tell her this.
"Mkay..." Cynder said more tired giving in and finally relaxing amd starting to drift to sleep as her love smooches and licks her head.
"Good night Cyn.."
"Good night Spyro" The dragons told eachother and started to fall asleep letting sleep take them to their dream lands where they would run around and enjoy themselves for about eight hours and then wake back up to the bright morning sun and start a new day.
