I love you.

Why couldn't he say it?

I love you.

He knew he did.

I love you.

He was fully aware of how he felt for the blonde celestial wizard whose house and privacy he invaded countless times.

I love you.

He had dreamed of the day he'd say it, the day he'd finally tell Lucy just how much she meant to him.

I love you.

Mira always teased the two of them about it, saying that one day they'd become a couple.

I love you.

Gray had said it to Juvia.

I love you.

Jellal had said it to Erza.

I love you.

Gajeel had said it to Levy.

I love you.

So why didn't he say it?

I love you.

It was only three words.

I love you.

The three words she had said countless times that she dreamed of being told.

I love you.

She told him how she would say it, and her love would say it back.

I love you.

Yeah right.

I love you.

And she did say it.

I love you.

And things went wrong.

I love you.

Because he didn't say it back.

I love you.

And Lucy was depressed.

I love you.

And Natsu didn't know how to help.

I love you.

And the man was a liar.

I love you.

But he wasn't.

I love you.

Because he did love her.

I love you.

And slowly, she grew to love him.

I love you.

And things continued to go wrong.

I love you.

Because the mission was S class.

I love you.

It was supposed to be easy.

I love you.

Yeah right.

So if it was easy, why did it happen?

I love you.

Why did the monster strike her through her midsection, piercing straight through?

I love you.

Why did the fire burn away as soon as it touched the monster?

I love you.

Why did the blood sizzle away at the monster's flesh?

I love you.

Why did it splatter across his bare chest, staining him the color of her life essence?

I love you.

Why did the monster collapse after her blood touched it?

I love you.

Why didn't she respond when he called her name?

I love you.

Why didn't she breathe when he pleaded for her to?

I love you.

Why didn't she stop bleeding when he begged her to?

I love you.

Why didn't she open her eyes?

I love you.

Why didn't he say he loved her?

I love you.

Why didn't she say she loved him too?

I love you.

"NO! NO LUCY DON'T YOU DARE LEAVE ME! I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU GOD DAMMIT I LOVE YOU!" Natsu screamed, holding onto the blonde mage's limp body. "BREATHE! WHY WONt you just breathe? Why wont you breathe?" she didn't respond, and her head lolled to the side. Natsu caught the sharp change in her scent and his world stopped. No. no. no; this wasn't happening. She was not dead, and he was not holding her dead body, and they had not failed. She was not gone. But no matter how many times he thought it, pleaded it, she was. The change in her scent, her sweet Lucy-smell was the ugly, bitter smell of death.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO O!"

I love you.

I love you.

I'm sorry, Lucy.

I love you.

I'm sorry.

Poor Lucy and poor Natsu. She's dead and he never told her he loved her. The others confessed but he didn't, so that should clear up any confusion you might have and if not… well pm me and I'll do a better job explaining. I don't own Fairy Tail, honestly if I did I probably would have killed Lucy ages ago. Not that I hate her or anything its just that I like making Natsu suffer. I'm a very sadistic person. Hope you enjoyed and don't forget to review so I don't kill Lucy again!
