Is the pureblood superiority in the wizarding world really a baseless lie?
Or was there some truth behind it?
This is the true history of where this all started.
The truth was that there was something that made the pureblood families superior in power, but it was only five families that had those.
The only houses with blood-gifts.
They consist of:
The Most Ancient and Pure House of Malfoy
The Most Ancient and Wise House of Lovegood
The Most Ancient and Noble House of Black
The Most Ancient and Cunning House of Riddle
And The Most Ancient and Royal House of Potter
Although most of the public does not know of this, but the knowledge of how the blood-gifts came to be were passed down within the lines.
As the ruling houses of that time, which also meant they were the most powerful ones after the passing of Merlin, the last king of the wizarding world.
The Lords of the families, which formed the ruling council of five, like other rulers, wanted to secure their houses places as rulers and members of the council, so they finally agreed that the best way to ensure that was the one that was the riskiest.
Binding the elements to their lines forever.
In a ritual that required the attendance and participation of six of the most powerful members in each of the houses, they succeeded in taming the elements and binding the element that choose them to their line.
The element of water choose House Malfoy for it was slippery like them, maneuvering it's way through holes and cracks in society.
The element of wind choose House Lovegood for they were the cool thinkers, always calm and intelligent, refining the strategies of the council.
The element of fire choose House Black for they were the vanguard of the council, always violent in its nature and strategies.
The element of shadow choose House Riddle for they were the shadow of the council, always cunning and silent in their moves.
The element of ice choose House Potter, for they were neutral and solid in their standing, balancing out the council.
But to harness the elements required sacrifice from their part too.
The first was a blood oath made on their line to allow the elements to judge each new generation of the council.
The second was the sealing of the headquarters of the council in the arctic with an unbreakable enchantment that would summon the the next generation of the council to it on the ninth birthday of the oldest of the generation if the council was complete and found worthy, or else the castle would be hidden from all.
The third was the council would only be formed if the next generation of the council that was found worthy was within a year in age from the oldest chosen one.
At that time it seemed a minor request, but the Lords would not live to see the day it backfired on them.
A/N: So what do you think? Please review! And about The Arctic Flames, I'm still trying to link one idea to the other! I'm so sorry for that!
