Prologue: If you happen to live by a boardwalk, and if you happen to enjoy wondering underneath it at night, you may find a few things that disturb you. A risk is taken for those who venture beneath its wooden planks, who leave the relative safety of the cheerful shops and music of the above, and Willow silently applauded the police officer who dared step into his territory.
`Twas a shame, really, but one must do what one must do to survive. Willow licked his paws, waiting in darkness for the human patroller of justice to approach. The foolish human was actually whistling, unaware of the peril he was about to face. Willow crept up behind him, then pounced. A quick bite to the neck, and all was well. He enjoyed his fresh kill with satisfied pleasure, happy that he hadn`t a clan to share with. After he was finished with the juiciest parts of the human`s flesh, he roughly dragged him to a cardboard box. Willow didn`t dare eat all of the human; afterall, it was almost light. If he didn`t hurry, either the clan cats would find him or the humans. It was a risk he couldn`t afford to take.
At least, at the moment.
