The Power of Love
Athena looked in the mirror watching her mother help her with her hair.
"I'm so nervous mom, I can't believe I'm getting married in a few hours. You never did tell me how you and dad met."
Diana looked at her daughter lovingly. : "You don't want to hear that old fairy tale."
Athena begged her mom. "Please mom, perhaps it will help my nervousness."
"Well it all started when I first came to this place. Your dad and I didn't exactly see eye to eye. He did things his way while I did things my way. Your uncle Clark had to step between us a few times, but it didn't stay like that. He infuriated me so much I could've just smacked him."
Both ladies were so busy that they didn't see Bruce listening at the door.
"Can you believe I had to prove to your dad that I wasn't a bad guy but there to help."
"You know punching me didn't help that good image, Diana."
"Bruce, what are you doing here, you should be getting ready."
"I am telling our daughter the truth besides I need a kiss from you."
"Bruce tell her why I punched you." Diana said before she pulled him to her to give him a quick kiss.
"Clark and I just got there to the Island and I was following my tracker device when I saw your mom. She was in the sunlight, naked letting the light bounce of her. She was so beautiful that I ran up to her and grabbed her to me and planted a big kiss on her.. that's when she punched me, I learned that day never to take advantage of your mom."
Diana pushed Bruce to the door ."Out you go, this is special mother daughter talk."
"Alright, alright I'm going but …"
"No buts, go !: Diana winked at her husband.
When Bruce was out the door, Diana went over and sat on the bed. "You dad never knew that I secretly loved that kiss, but there was no way I was going to tell him that."
They both started laughing when they heard Bruce yelled that he heard Diana say that.
"it took awhile to earn your dads respect but that is one thing I don't take lightly. I hope I never disappoint him like I did before."
Diana looked at her daughter ."hmm lets see you need something old and something borrowed. That wont be a problem." Diana got up and went into her jewelry armoire. She took two objects out and came back and sat by her daughter. She took Athena's hand and opened it and placed the first object in it. "This is your Grandmother Martha's necklace. These pearls are the ones that she had on before she died. Your dad had collected the beads and had a necklace remade. I know that she would want you to have them."
Athena shed a few tears as Diana placed it on her neck. Then Diana opened Athena's hands again and placed in them a set of pearl earrings. " These belonged to my mother. She handed them down to me when I won the tournament and headed out here. She told me to keep them so I will always know that I am not alone, that her spirit is with me."
"Mom they are so beautiful. Please continue with your story about you and dad.:"
"I remember when…….
