Note: I write this out of anger directed at a certain boy named Tony Stark after having seen the newest episode. Please don't be afraid to share the frustration in your review.
Pepper tried to get away from the school as fast as she could. She couldn't hold it together the rest of the school day; she needed to let it out now. So as soon as she turned the corner she began to walk fast and faster, until she was running. She ran until she got to the stairs and then she rapidly climbed them, swinging the door open and slamming it shut behind her. She hid in the little nook between the gym and the roof of the school and immediately, the tears began flooding out. She had barely held them in in the hallway.
Why would Tony actually date Whitney? Pepper thought. She's such fake, a poser! I mean, her father is the guy he hates the most right now. Doesn't that mean anything? And why the heck did I tell Happy we have a date? I don't want to date Happy! I've only ever wanted Tony, and when I start to think we're going somewhere with our relationship and he goes and dates Whitney! Of all people! If he had the need to date someone that's not me, at least choose someone who's not Whitney.
Next victim, oh what was I thinking? Of course Tony would never go out with me. What's so appealing about me? He's a rich teenage billionaire genius and I'm just some lowlife weirdo freak who's in way over her head trying to impress him. I never even stood a chance versus Whitney; I don't even know why I tried. So what's the point in trying any further?
"Pepper? You up here?" A new voice called. It wasn't Tony's, whose voice she wanted to hear the most despite her anger towards him. It was a concerned Rhodey. Pepper muttered a 'yeah' that didn't really come out as anything but a grunt, but Rhodey found her anyways. He sat a few feet away from her, as to give her a little space.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"Do I look okay?" Pepper said, looking up at him and revealing her tears. Rhodey made a face that said 'euh…' but in a nervous way.
"Look, Pepper, I know you're upset that Tony is dating Whitney but I can promise you the feelings will pass over soon. Tony will realize what a pain she can be. He'll break up with her within a week, I promise." Rhodey tried to assure her. Pepper's tears dried, and she cleared away her running mascara, but she still had a frown set on her face.
"I hope so…" Pepper sighed. There was a moment of silence as Rhodey searched for something to say to cheer Pepper up.
"You don't really want to go on a date with Happy Hogan, do you?"
"No, not really. I was hoping it would make him jealous," Pepper explained.
"Kinda seems like it is,"
Then the bell rang and they decided that Pepper would hold it together just until the end of the day and then she could go home and let her feelings out a little more if she needed to, and went to class.
That was short yet needed. I needed to get that out of the good ol' system. I'm gonna get to updating some other stories now…I hope…review? (once again, don't be afraid to share the anger.)
