"Hey Laura, you're on in ten."

I barely nodded, not really paying attention. I sighed as I finshed my shot of jack. Rubbing my temples, I stood up from the sagging couch in the mildly clutter band room.

"You're going to be fine?" The drummer, Adam asked, giving me a worried look. I just waved him off. He sighed as he wrapped an arm around my shoulders when I tried to pass by him.

"He doesn't deserve ya." I frowned, finally feeling something other than the numbness that I've been living in for the past 3 months.

"It's not him who doesn't deserve, it's me." I whispered before shrugging his arm off and heading out of the room towards the backstage.

Sad brown eyes looked up from his drink when the lights started to dim in the bar. He`sighed as the noise went down. He didn't even know why he was here.

Movement out of the corner of his eye reminded him. He was dragged here by the over zealous playboy known as Tony. Said man didn't even give him a reason except that "he needed to get out".

He didn't argue, actually he didn't do anything but follow. He just didn't care anymore.

I waited for the lights to dim before walking on stage. The others gave me a few concerned looks but knew better than to ask. I licked my dry lips, suddenly feeling all the anger I kept bottled up flare up before fading into deep bone wrenching sorrow.

I took a quick swig of water before grabbing the mic and bringing closer.

"When you try your best, but you don't succeed"

He looked up from his drink startled by the breath taking voice. He knew that voice. His eyes widen as they landed on HER.

"When you get what you want, but not what you need

When you feel so tired, but you can't sleep

Stuck in reverse"

As I remembered all those lonely nights, I felt my pain grow as I started to sing. It wasn't just words to a song anymore. Unfortunately it was from my breaking heart.

"And the tears come streaming down your face"

He felt his chest ache at the sight of the tears. He could never stand to see Her crying.

"When you lose something you can't replace"

There's a saying, if you truly love something let it go. Well whats happens when it never comes back?

"When you love someone, but it goes to waste"

What if the thing you lost was a person, but not just a person but someone you loved. And you lost them because you messed up.

"Could it be worse?"

No it couldn't.

"Lights will guide you home

And ignite your bones

And I will try to fix you"

I nearly winced at those last words. I remembered all the times I had to fight him to get him to see that he wasn't a monster.

"And high up above or down below

When you're too in love to let it go

But if you never try you'll never know

Just what you're worth"

He frowned. He could still hear Her telling, more like yelling at him that he wasn't a monster. He should have listened to her, maybe then he would have tried and never have left Her alone.

"Lights will guide you home

And ignite your bones

And I will try to fix you"

I think back to all those little moments with him. How just looking at him, seeing his shy smile made me warm.

"Tears stream down your face

When you lose something you cannot replace

Tears stream down your face And I..."

How could he have been so stupid to let her go. He should have stopped her from walking out that night.

"Tears stream down your face

I promise you I will learn from my mistakes

Tears stream down your face And I..."

I look up at the crowd and somehow I saw Tony there watching me with a sad smile on his face. I felt my hands shake realizing why he was there, and just who was standing next to him.

"Lights will guide you home

And ignite your bones

And I will try to fix you"

Gray eyes lock with greenish brown eyes as the lights turned on. He felt a hand on his shoulder as Tony leaned in.

"Go get her Bruce."
