Babylon, 480 BC.
The ground shook with an intensity that crumbled many walls. People fled from their collapsing houses, stumbling over each other in their panic. The sky grew dark and thunder rumbled loudly, shaking the ground even more. Some fled to the temples to pray for salvation, but there would be no salvation on this day. The statues of their gods fell and shattered. The priests and kings looked from their palaces in fear as the sky opened up before them. In awe, the people of the city fell to their knees. They stared as a great blinding light shot from the sky into their great tower. The tower that reached into the heavens was deemed indestructible, yet as the ground shook, and the sky turned black, and the rivers boiled, it began to sway and crumble. And finally it collapsed, layer by layer imploding upon itself. As it fell a great dust storm produced from its base consuming the city like a ravenous beast…
