The non-bold part is the actual 550 word count! I own nothing! This is a SolarClan challenge! Oh, and by the way, I just guessed the leader before Vinestar.

It was the eve of an unknown battle for ThunderClan; Vinepaw was sharing prey with his friend, Lilypaw. The white she-cat had stopped eating; she started to groom her friend. Vinepaw joined in. That was when Mudear, a brown warrior burst into the clearing. "RiverClan's been stealing our prey!"

The leader, Owlstar, shot out of his den. "Why would they do that?"

"Well, I don't know, but we found this on the Sunningrocks!" Mudear layed the body of a half-eaten vole on the ground. "It's covered in RiverClan scent!"

Owlstar's eyes flared with rage. "We'll send patrols to go confront RiverClan. Blackpelt! Take Littleclaw, Fernface, Vinepaw, and Lilypaw to go confront RiverClan on the border. Attack if you have to."

Excitement flared through Vinepaw. He might go attack RiverClan, but something felt wrong, like this shouldn't be happening. He'll investigate along the way. Blackpelt beckoned him and Lilypaw with a flick of her tail. "Remember your training," the black she-cat reminded.

"I'd never forget!" Lilypaw's eyes shown like stars in the moonlight.

Blackpelt purred at her; the patrol raced out of camp. They passed the training hollow, where Vinepaw tripped on a tree root.

Fernface whirled around. "Are you alright?"

"Yeah, I'll catch up," Vinepaw started to get up.

"Alright," Blackpelt led the patrol on.

The tom got up on his paws and started to investigate. On the way, he took the long-cut, cutting through Snake Rocks, trying to learn about the battle. That was when he heard voices. And smelled RiverClan stench.

"They will never know it was us!" cackled a voice.

"Well, they might figure it out, Brambleshade," a quieter voice objected.

"Shut up, Tinyfoot! If you say things like that, they will!" Brambleshade hissed.

"But if anyone recognizes our scent, they'll know to call off the battle." Tinyfoot stated.

"But they won't," Brambleshade said confidently.

"Whatever you say," the smaller one squeaked, Brambleshade was the leader.

Quickly, Vinepaw had to think of something, anything. He scanned his surroundings: trees, a Twoleg monster…..

Wait, he could use the Twoleg thing to his own advantage! There was a monster with a craned front paw or whatever it's called. It was yellow; the paw-thing had a brown jagged end, holding a bunch of dirt and a big rock, standing right over Brambleshade and Tinyfoot. Vinepaw had his idea.

Skillfully climbing the monster, Vinepaw finally made it up to the brown end. Using all of his body weight to push the big rock, it started to move.

"Tinyfoot," Brambleshade hissed. "Do you hear that?"

"Yeah," Tinyfoot stated. "What do you think it could be?" those were their last words.

Vinepaw had used all of his might to push the big rock off. Onto the two she-cats. Their lives ended with two never-ending shrieks in his ears. He had done it. He had killed two cats.

The battle! he had to stop it. Vinepaw ran all the way to the Sunningrocks, but he was too late. The battle had begun. Warriors clashed with warriors, faking, striking, defending. Even Lilypaw was joining in.

But, from somewhere inside of him, he got the strength to yell Stop!

Every cat looked at him, pausing.

"It wasn't RiverClan! It was Brambleshade and Tinyfoot!" Vinepaw gasped. The battle ended without death that night, all thanks to Vinepaw.
