Title: Mirrored Plexus
Fandom: Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE
Characters/Pairings: R!Syaoran, C!Sakura, and some vague implications of R!Sakura/R!Syaoran, C!Sakura/C!Syaoran, and C!Sakura/R!Syaoran
Disclaimer: I do not own TRC. I just borrow its characters and get them high enough on crack so they'd appear in my stories.
Notes: Set in Infinity. May slightly veer off canon. (I haven't reread the Infinity arc in a long time.)
Summary: She wasn't her. He wasn't him. And yet, they couldn't bear to look away.
o.0.o
He didn't know when he first noticed it. Perhaps it was sometime in Infinity, not too long after they 'officially' met. He had known her for quite some time now, through the eyes of his clone. Back then, he didn't really notice the differences, the small details that set them apart. The way she walked with just a bit more grace (even until now, despite her bad leg). The way she spoke just a bit more softly or the way she smiled with just a bit less warmth, they were all there from the beginning. But the one he couldn't believe he missed was her eyes. They were still the same bright green, but if you looked closely enough, you would see that they were just a bit more dull and empty on the inside.
And now, those same eyes were looking straight at him, trying to find his other self.
She didn't know when she started doing it. She assumed it was some time after they met. Her eyes would casually wander towards him, mostly out of habit, she supposed. He was just so much like him. Physically, they were almost identical and in terms of spirit, he was just as strong and determined, perhaps even more so. The only real differences were how he spoke just a bit more gently, the way he moved with just a bit more care, (as if he'd already broken so much) and his eyes. Oh, his eyes. It was strange, how they were both so enchanting and painful to look at. Every time their eyes met, his would always have that look of pain and regret, always apologizing for something he didn't do.
But now, those twin chocolate browns were looking out the window, watching the rain fall down.
She walked over and watched with him. No words were spoken. Their eyes never met. There were still so many things left unsaid. But they didn't care. For now, just being there was enough.

A/N: I don't really like how this turned out… but whatever. Anyway, I'd appreciate your comments/suggestions!
