The snow was beautiful. Buffy had never seen anything so light and soft. As she walked with Angel, she reflected on what had just happened.

"Because I wanted to! I want to take comfort in you and I know it will cost me my soul and a part of me doesn't care."

That's what he had said. Buffy only wished she could make his wish come true. As she held his hand she thought about the possibility that, that dream could come true. It can't come true. She thought, it just can't. She rested her head on his shoulder and sighed.

"What?" Angel asked.

"Oh, nothing. Just thinking about what just happened," Buffy turned to face him, "how I almost lost you again."

Angel looked into her innocent eyes and smiled.

"I know. I keep thinking about it too. I can't believe what I almost did. I can't believe I let the First get to me like that. I thought I was stronger than that." Angel let go of Buffy's hand and moved away from her.

The streets were deserted. They were the only two there. It was crazy, but all Buffy wanted to do was make love to the one man that she couldn't live without. But she knew, that if she did, it was over. Angel wouldn't be there. Buffy moved to him and gently touched his face. So cold. But, that didn't stop her from kissing him. The kiss was bitter at first then it grew with passion. Buffy wrapped her arms around him and held him close. This is all I can offer you my love. She thought. Buffy clung to Angel's broad shoulders and kissed him harder. Angel, shocked by the intensity of the kiss, pulled her close. Unwillingly, Buffy broke the kiss and looked into his eyes.

"Does that give you a little reassurance about how strong you are?" She asked.

Angel smiled, "A little."

Angel put his arm around Buffy and they began to walk. As Angel and Buffy walked towards the Summers house, Buffy broke away and ran in the opposite direction.

"What are you doing?" Angel questioned her.

Buffy simply smiled and picked up some snow and hurled it at Angel. The snowball hit him square in the face. Angel smiled and picked up a snowball. Buffy dodged the throw but missed the second one that was thrown after it. Buffy laughed and tossed back. The snowball fight continued all the way to Buffy's house until the reached the front door. Angel only smiled.

"Well, here you are. Safe and sound." He said.

"Yeah." Buffy replied as she leaned in to kiss him again. This kiss was less intense but still carried the same amount of love. Buffy and Angel stayed like that for a while until Buffy pulled away.

"What now?" He asked.

"I'm sorry." She said as she avoided his eyes.

"For what?" He asked as he lifted her chin so their eyes met.

"For not giving you your Christmas wish." Buffy looked away again and walked to the edge of the porch.

"Buffy, the only Christmas wish I have is to be with you. I don't care about anything else. All I care about is you. You are my Christmas wish."

Buffy turned to him with tears in her eyes. That was one of the most beautiful things she had ever heard. She slightly ran into his arms and kissed him. They clung to each other and all Buffy could think of was I'm his Christmas wish…and he is mine.
