Title: You've always wanted to be a pirate
Fandoms: Sherlock, Doctor Who
Characters: Sherlock, the 11th Doctor
Genre: Sentimental
Prompt: An old ruin is the location, discovery is the theme. A boat is an object that plays a part in the story.
Sherlock was confused as he stared at the old ruin of a house in the middle of nowhere. The sky was light and sunny. A soft wind was blowing and it lifted some grains of sand. The waves of the sea were noisy as they crashed against the rocks. The sand of the beach reflected the light of the sun. The temperature was very high, but Sherlock didn't took his coat off.
"So, what do you think?" the Doctor exclaimed, excited, closing the door of the TARDIS.
Sherlock stared at the boat still in the low water. It was floating in the waves, tied to a stake. A huge ship could be seen in the distance.
"So?!" the Doctor insisted. When Sherlock looked at him he saw he was wearing a black eye patch. "I brought one for you too", he said, handing him a one. "Eye patches are cool".
Sherlock looked at the patch for a few seconds. He remembered he had one when he was a kid. He remembered that when he put it on, he felt like he was invincible. He remembered also that Mycroft always shooed him when he asked if he wanted to play with him.
No doubt the huge ship was a pirate ship. The black flag with a skull said it all.
Some loud voices came from the ruin. The pirates were about to return to the boat.
"You've always wanted to be a pirate," the Doctor whispered. "The thrill of the discovery, the high waves of the sea, the huge ship. Now you can have it all."
The voices were approaching. It was just a matter of time. Sherlock approached to the boat, took his coat off, folded it and put it in the boat. He put on the eye patch and untied the rope from the stake, ready to push the boat. "The game is on, Doctor!" he shouted, smiling as he was a kid again.
