AN: I needed to write this after Sunday's episode. It could've been better and longer, but this popped into me brain, and here she be:

His Brown eyes gazed through the thick pane of glass and fixed their focus on the front door of the farmhouse. He searched for her silhouette leaning against the door frame, framed in a warm yellow glow. Its beacon indicated that he was home and she was there waiting with the same warmth.

Jason quickly collected his coat and backpack and ran out of the school bus doors and into the cold winter air. His face grew stiff as the cold air brushed a hue of pink upon his cheeks. Though, the warmth from his smile proved to be no match. He picked up his quickened pace when she opened the door with her inviting smile.

"Hey, Jase," Elizabeth said as he ran into her arms.

"Hi, mom," He smiled.

"Miss me, big man?"

He nodded. Today, like every day, he missed her. He didn't mind that his sisters made fun of him for it because she would always make it better.

"Jase, where's your other mitten?" She questioned, holding his small, exposed hand in hers.

"I don't know," He shrugged.

"Okay…" Elizabeth sighed, "Let's go in. Take off your boots-I don't want snirt...Or salt on my floors!"

"Mom, I have something for you. It's in my backpack," He announced as he tripped over the threshold.

"Careful," She warned grabbing his arm,"...You do, well, I ha...Stevie, I have to go back to work for a meeting. You're in charge."

"Why do you even come back here then?" Stevie asked.

"Because I can," Elizabeth replied not wanting to deal with Stevie's newly acquired attitude.

"You never came home every day for me," Stevie stated.

"No...But I do now, and I need to go."

"Mom, wait! I need to show-"

"I've got to go back to work, baby. I'll be home later. Be good for your sister," Elizabeth said, ruffling Jason's hair. "Love you," She said twice over and ran out.

"What is it?" Stevie asked as she moved to grab the paper in her brother's hand.

"Don't, Stevie," He asserted, pulling his hand back.

"I just wanna see," She persisted.

"Don't…" He whined.

"Okay...Fine...Jeez," Stevie settled.

Unbeknownst to Henry, Jason laid wide awake in his room that night, waiting for Elizabeth to return home.

When he finally heard the door open, Jason crept out of his room and tiptoed down the stairs; paper in hand.

"Welcome home, mom," Jason beamed.

"Hey...What are you doing up?" Elizabeth questioned as she threw her heels into the closet.

"I wanted to show you this," Jason answered.

"You did," She remembered, "Let's go to the kitchen table-Then I can sit." Jason complied.

"We did this in school," Jason said, unfolding the paper, "It's: 'Who Ins-Insp-Insp-"

"-Inspires," Elizabeth corrected, with a pride-filled smile.

"Yeah, that," Jason agreed, "I did mine on you. Wanna hear it?"

"Hm-mm," Elizabeth nodded, running a hand through Jason's hair as she leaned in closer to him.

"My mom insp-In-spi-res me," He began, "-

Because she is smart

Because she works hard

Because she teaches people

Because she takes care of us

Because she is nice"

Jason looked back at her to see the glints of tears that reflected in her eyes. He threw his head against his palm and smiled, "Don't cry, mom," He said shaking his head.

"Well, too bad...I am," She ruffled his hair once more.

"...Oh," His head shot up, "I also told my teacher about your superpowers. Remember?

"I do," She smiled.

"I told her you can see everything."

"That's true, I can...And I can see you need to go to bed.

Okay…" He said with reluctance and got up from the table.

"Jase," Elizabeth stopped him at the bottom of the stairs, "Can I have a hug?"

He turned shook his head and walked into her embrace.

"Thank you," Elizabeth said kneeling to his level. She placed a kiss upon his head and whispered, "That means a lot to me."
