He was 15 years old and had only ever asked for one thing for Christmas since he was four and that was for it to snow on Christmas. The first time he saw snow was when he was four years old and his family went on vacation in January. He lived in Arizona so it never snowed.
He was now 15 years old and starting to give up on his wish for snow. He was teased at school by the students, and at home by his siblings.
He never got anything for Christmas. This was because when he was asked what he wanted for Christmas, his answer was always snow. Because of this, nobody knew what to get him. He didn't care though. He had his teddy and that was good enough for him.
When he was seven, his family tried to get him a new teddy bear for Christmas. He wouldn't even look at it, and demanded his old teddy. This meant his family had to dig through the trash. But what he didn't know was that his siblings had a plan for this Christmas.
Instead of a new teddy bear they would fix the old one. At first glance it looked abused, it was missing a button eye, part of its ear was torn off and stuffing was coming out of it. But the siblings knew that the bear was well loved rather that abused.
So on Christmas Eve they got the bear while their brother was sleeping and set to work on bringing it back to life. They gave it a new button eye, put new stuffing in it and sewed up the hole. The only thing that wouldn't be fixed was the ear. But the ripped ear gave the bear character. They tied a ribbon around its neck and put it way in the back of the stack of presents under the tree and went to bed.
That morning everyone came down stairs. As always the boy went straight to the window and looked out, and like always there was no snow. So he sat on the floor and watched his family open their presents.
When everyone had opened their presents and it seemed that there were no more, his siblings pulled out his teddy. He would have thought it wasn't his, if it weren't for the ripped ear. He gave his siblings a hug and then glanced out the window; there was nothing but blue skies. But for once he was happy on Christmas, even if there wasn't any snow.
