This is my first fanfic... I don't own Detective Conan… Err… what else should I say?

His breath was starting to come out in gasps, running non stop for 5 minutes at full speed would do that to you. Another set of footsteps could be heard almost right behind his, getting closer in every second.

What did he ever do to deserve this? Why him?

Conan risked a glance over his shoulder. He didn't like what he saw.

Without his notice, his pursuer had managed to reduce the distance between them by half. He muttered a curse under his breath as he pulled aside the traditional Japanese doors and ran into the room, slamming the door shut behind him.

If memory served him well, this room was connected to another room, which in turn was connected to two other rooms. Hopefully, he would be able to lose his pursuer in this labyrinth of rooms.

It was ironic. He, Edogawa Conan, formerly known as Detective of the East Kudo Shinichi, was usually the pursuer. Although he was now trapped in this 7-year-old body, that did not stop him from pursuing criminals 3 times in height and sometimes in number as well.

Even then, he did not feel fear. His one track mind pushed any fear he should have out into oblivion.

He slid another door aside and slammed it behind him. Just then, he noticed Hattori Heiji, known as Detective of the West, and also one of the few who knew his true identity.

Usually, Shinichi would not allow the dark skinned youth to see any fear on his face, nor would he ask the impetuous youth for help, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

"Hattori, hide me!" The words left his mouth as he quickly ran behind Hattori. He waited a few seconds for the dark skinned youth to process what he had just yelled out of the blue.

After a few precious seconds, Hattori finally stirred. Then, the unexpected happened.

Hattori grabbed the shrunken detective by the back of his shirt and lifted Conan effortlessly until his short legs were dangling 2 feet in the air.

"Hey Ran! You looking for Ku-Conan?" He yelled. Conan stiffened.

About one minute later, Ran ran into the room. Hattori waited while Ran recovered her breath.

"Arigato, Heiji-kun." Ran said after she had calmed down. She looked at Conan sternly and planted her hands at her hip.

"Mou… why did you have to run?" Ran asked. Conan struggled to get away from the two teenagers.

"Now, follow me and don't run away this time. The landlady was so kind to make that pajamas for you. You will not run away before we take some pictures of you in that pajamas."

"No! Never!" Conan yelled as the two teens made their way to the room where Conan ran away from. The landlady should still be there.

"Come on, be a good boy and wear it. It's only for a few minutes." Ran pleaded.

"No! I will never wear pink with panda designs!"
