This is the start of what I call "A Month of Pink" in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, where I will write out thirty-one little one-shots starring thirty-one pink-haired characters for the month of October.

The sun shined brightly over the land of Green Hill. The birds were chirping their little songs and a gentle breeze flowed, making it the best day to have a picnic. In fact, one Amy Rose was trying to get Sonic to go on one with her. The keyword here being "trying".
"Sonic! You promised! And don't give me some excuse like last time!"
"Hey, I was telling the truth! I really did get sucked into a storybook!"
The pink hedgehog pouted as the object of her affection kept using that story as objectification for him blowing off their last date. "Uh-huh, sure. Sonic, why can't we have at least one date? Is that so hard to ask for? I even went to all the trouble of making ourselves lunch!"
Sonic glanced at the basket in Amy's hand and then to her face, which still had the pout and a little bit of hope in her eyes.
"…Is there any chili dogs in there?" asked Sonic, looking back at the basket.
"Of course!" replied Amy with a smile.
Sonic let out a sigh. "Lead the way, Ames."
"Yay!"
Taking ahold of his hand, a happy Amy led Sonic further into Green Hill to the perfect spot that over looked the ocean. Once there, Amy unfurled the blanket she had and laid it out on the grass. The two soon got started on their picnic with Amy handing Sonic one of the chili dogs she had made.
"Not bad, Amy," said Sonic after taking a bite.
"Aw! Thank you, Sonic!" exclaimed the girl as she gave her crush a quick hug.
"Ah! Amy!" yelped Sonic, almost dropping his chili dog when Amy latched on.
Amy could only giggle a bit before starting on her own lunch. She was happy that finally got her date with her hero and if she played her cards right, she might be able to get another one. In the meantime, she was going to enjoy this one.

Starting off the "Month of Pink" we have probably one of the most well-known gaming girl: Amy Rose. Figured I'd start off with one of the more popular characters to get the ball rolling.
Anyway, one down and thirty to go. If there are any particular pink-haired characters you'd like to see for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, leave a review.
