A/N: Another Coffee Time Theatre idea, setting up the movie on a different premise. Coffee is big business, right?

"Joan Wilder, you are a dreamer" Elaine said between mouthfuls.

"Maybe. But tell me this isn't the best baked good you have ever tasted." Joan was picking crumbs up where they had fallen on the table.

"I don't deny that; even after being in the mail for a week I just can't stop eating them. But are they SO important you'll go traveling around the world to get the recipe?" Elaine was now searching through the packing paper in the box looking for any pieces that might have been missed.

"Look at yourself Elaine! You're already like a junkie looking for her next fix. If it can do that to you, just imagine what happens when I make and sell them to coffee shops here in Los Angeles. And why stop with LA? Just think of how many coffee shops there are in California." Joan was getting that faraway look in her eye again.

"Why stop there? Why not the world?"

"Oh, I don't know about the world. Besides, Dolly Madison and Sara Lee must have started somewhere!"

"Yes, but you've already had 5 calls from that creepy man from that coffee company in Seattle. Just sell them the map and let them do all the work." Even before Joan had received the package she had been called repeatedly by a representative of the coffee chain. What she hadn't told her sister was that the man had actually accosted her in front of her apartment as well, wanting to buy the recipe.

But the package didn't contain a recipe. Besides the scones there was a map and a business card from a bird dealer named Jack Colton. No phone number, just 'Meet me in Cartagena' and the name of a hotel.

"No, I'm going. If it has gotten this much interest there must be something to it. I don't know who this Colton guy is, but this recipe is my ticket to the big time. Besides, all I write is cookbooks. Wouldn't it be great if I got a great adventure novel out of it?"

"Keep dreaming Joan" said Elaine with a sigh.
