Melanie slowly opened her eyes to find the morning sky filled with grey clouds. Rising from her bed, she slipped into her clothes and slowly stumbled toward the kitchen. Melanie pushed the door of the main cabin open to find her little sister, still in her violet footie pajamas, on a small step stool on her tip-toes, tending to a pan and a kettle on the stove. Amelia took a scoop of ground coffee and packed it into a filtered funnel, setting the funnel over a jar. Careful not to burn herself, she gently poured the water from the kettle over the coarse powder. Melanie watched silently as her younger sister worked, before speaking. "Morning", she groaned. Amelia quickly put the kettle back on the stove and rushed over to her sister, ecstatic. She tightly wrapped her arms around Melanie's abdomen, capturing her in a hug. "Good morning, Melanie", Amelia said. "How'd you sleep?".

"Ok. Been having the weirdest dreams lately," Melanie replied.

"Like what?"

"The fire keeps happening again and again, but each time, I get more and more control over what happens."

"That's weird."

"It is", Melanie added, chuckling at her sister's comment. She looked over to the countertop. "Is that coffee in the jar?".

Amelia nodded.

"Thanks", said Melanie, groggy as she grabbed a mug and poured. She took a sip and smiled, leaning against the countertop. Amelia took the pan and a plate of toast, setting them on the small table.

"What's that?", Melanie asked, gesturing to the pan.

"Omelette."

"What did you put in it?"

"Crab, chives, asparagus and the last of that cheese from Karnaca."

"Nice.", Melanie stated as she sat down, cutting a portion for both of them and grabbing two half slices of the toast. Biting into the egg, she savored the ingredients carefully. The crab was delicate and perfectly sweet and the asparagus added a nice bitter taste and crunchy texture while the cheese was creamy and rich. The chives were delayed, subtlety whispering their name into the dish, so as not to overpower anything, but acting as more of an enchantment over the food. "Amelia, this is...amazing," Melanie concluded, still baffled by her sister's cooking ability.

"You really think so?".

"Yah. Where did you even get the crab?"

"I tossed the trap off the side of the plane and waited."

"Good thinking", Melanie said as she continued to eat. Finishing the masterpiece that was breakfast, Melanie took their plates and utensils to the sink, quickly washing the dishes before stowing them. "There's a storm on the horizon and it's gonna hit soon. We gotta get to Desmus," Melanie stated, walking towards the pilot's seat.

"Ok. Can we visit the house while we're there?"

Melanie stopped dead in her tracks. She had worked for years to try and forget that dreadful memory of a building and now this...this naive little...child, wanted to return to the site that caused her so much pain. "I...i don't know, Millie".

"Please?", Amelia pleaded.

As she stared into her sister's innocent emerald green eyes, Melanie broke. "Fine".

Amelia hugged Melanie tight and smiled gleefully. "Oh thank you thank you thank you".

Melanie returned the hug lightly, already regretting her decision
