I sorta can't get enough of Tris and Tobias. :3

Tobias steadied his bleeding hand, looking back and forth between the huge bowls. Abnegation or Dauntless. Selfless or brave. His dad or his happiness.

With one quick, impulsive move, he let his blood drip on the sizzling coals.

He was selfish, but he was brave.

Her eyes burned into his, taunting him to move away from the target.

"It's not too late to back down, Four."

Four looked her dead in the eye, silently telling her to get it over with.

One by one, Tris snapped her wrist forward, sending the knives towards him. He resisted the urge to flinch knowing that he couldn't let his worries shut him down. He had to trust that Tris wouldn't send the knife flying to his neck.

Tris released the last knife and Four felt something prick his ear. He touched a finger to it and saw his blood.

The other initiates scattered to the doors and went to the Pit.

Four stayed behind.

"What was that for?" he asked, his tone cold.

"To teach you a lesson," Tris replied simply. Her tone was anything but apologetic.

"How does making me bleed teach me a lesson?" Four exclaimed. She was definitely crazy if she thought she was being helpful by hurting him.

Immediately, Tris turned around and leaned closer to his face. Her expression was calm and serious.

"I don't know if you noticed, but doing Abnegation things here disguised as Dauntless acts will get you nowhere. I know what you are and I'm trying to protect you," she hissed.

With her words still lingering, she left the training room.

"Four, are you crazy? We could fall down any second!" Tris said, raising her voice so she could be heard over the howling wind.

Out of all of the initiates, Four was the bravest. And the handsomest a little voice said it her head. She liked to ignore it most times but the things it said always knew how to appear in the most random of times. Too bad she couldn't help but to agree with its words every time.

Four laughed, "This is nothing compared to jumping off the trains or jumping off the building!"

Tris could've strangled him. It wasn't because she was afraid of heights. It was because she was afraid of losing control of her grip on the rusted bars.

Suddenly, Four narrowed his eyes somewhere in the distance.

"Tris, look! Can you see the light?" he said excitedly, practically glowing with childish glee.

She stared at the barely there green light.

"I can't believe it! You found their flag!" she whispered, staring into his light blue orbs.

Two years ago, when she was in initiation, no one had thought of an idea like this. Sure, her team won, but it was pure strategy and, if she was being honest, a lot of reckless fun.

Four grinned cheekily, "Being Dauntless means taking risks, right?"

Tris laughed, "Brave risks. We're reckless but we're not that brain dead."

Carefully, she climbed down the creaky ferris wheel with Four right on her heels. Once she was off, she offered her hand to help Four down.

"Abnegation, much?" he said, a small smirk gracing his features.

She smiled, "Come on, Four. Let's win this."
