Eh, I wrote this last night because it was stuck inside my head. And I'm
posting it because there's NO new ones, which pissed me off. *sigh* And
none of them are updated. This is sorta set after either Intolerable Acts
or United We Stand (Isn't United We Stand when they start calling her a
Tory? Ah, well, whatever). I'm saying Intolerable Acts because she'd have
something to say about James being a jerk if I set it after United We
Stand. I think this is stupid. And I miss tomorrow's episode, which I don't
like. Grrr... I don't own Liberty's Kids. Doi. I mean, if I did, it prolly
wouldn't be on PBS and wouldn't have those stupid LNN announcements. And
it'd have a better name.
This is KINDA S/Jy, I guess. But not very.
Warmth
America had always surprised Sarah Phillips, who had been living there for a few weeks or so. The colonists themselves surprised her so much. The colonists were warm, friendly, affectionate, a stark contrast to the British. But most of all, they were unfailingly generous.
She had lost her father's locket due to a nasty fight with a soldier. She had been in America less than a day, and it hadn't been a pleasant experience. It began with her being dragged off the Dartmouth by a boy she had just barely met and hadn't finished arguing with. Being a lady, she wasn't used to such rough treatment or sharp words. A gentleman would never do such a thing.
But, one thing she had learned of the colonies was that they were a tough group. America seemed so much realer than home. The American's weren't stiff, calm, or polite. The entire colonies were a firecracker waiting to go off. Loud, fiery, and passionate. They didn't just shout their beliefs at you, they screamed.
Her behavior too surprised her. She had lied to a British soldier for people she barely knew. And they didn't let her act of kindness go unwarranted. Henri, Moses, and James had made her a new locket. It was forged from James' mother's ring, the only possession he had to remind himself of his parents. Henri had thought up the idea for it, or at least taken credit. And, Moses, he had used his time to construct it for her.
But James' donation surprised her the most. Why would he do something so sweet for someone he barely knew? And, she was a Tory, while he was the opposite. He hated her, right? Sarah pondered this as she went to sleep, never getting an answer.
This would not be the first night questions like those kept her awake. And so began the first of many confusing nights for one Sarah Phillips of London.

It would really help if you reviewed. REALLY. And will someone PLEASE write more of these fics? Or, at least update a few?
