Okay, so here's the thing about this oneshot: I cannot lay claim to most of it. I saw a really adorable part of Apple 247's profile and begged them to let me use it. When they said that I could, I then promised to tell everyone that it was on their profile. So, recap: The questions do not belong to me, the answers do not belong to me, the explanation does not belong to me, and, of course, House of Anubis does not belong to me. Thank you.

Saying the Wrong Things

Nina and Fabian were alone together, though they weren't talking to each other. This was a major reoccurrence. Neither wanted to say anything, but at the same time they both wanted to say everything. Everyone knew that they liked each other, and tried everything to get them to admit it to each other, but nothing worked.

Nina glanced over her book, wondering what Fabian was thinking about. Fabian glanced at her as soon as she looked away, wondering the same thing. The silence continued for several minutes until Nina finally broke it for the first time in weeks.

"Fabian?"

"Hm?" Fabian asked, looking at the American girl.

"Do I ever cross your mind?" The question seemed to blurt out, but it was one that she had been wondering about for a while.

"No," Fabian said honestly.

Slightly confused, Nina continued. "Do you like me?"

"No."

The questions kept pouring from her, an unstoppable wave that she wished would end. "Do you want me?"

"No."

"Would you cry if I left?"

"No." Fabian was confused by the interrogation, but he continued to answer honestly.

"Would you live for me?"

"No."

"Would you do anything for me?"

"No."

"Choose –me or your life."

"My life."

Nina got up and took off, tears streaming down her face. Fabian shot after her, cornering her in the hallway. She tried to push past him, but he had her trapped between him and the wall. Finally, she listened to what he had to say.

"Nina, you never let me finish," Fabian said, a slight smile on his face. Nina shook her head, but Fabian kept talking. His words were filled with love, taking Nina by surprise.

"The reason you never cross my mind is because you're always on my mind. The reason why I don't like you is because I love you. The reason I don't want you is because I need you. The reason I wouldn't cry if you left is because I would die if you left. The reason I wouldn't live for you is because I would die for you. The reason why I'm not willing to do anything for you is because I would do everything for you. The reason I chose my life is because you are my life. Nina, I love you."

And with his promise, Fabian leaned down and gently kissed the love of his life, who wanted nothing more than for his words to be true. The couple kissed in a fiery explosion of passion and sorrow, forgiveness and love.

Nina was glad that she had asked Fabian all those questions. Now she knew how he felt. And he knew how she felt, too. Fabian knew Nina loved him almost as much as he loved her. When they broke apart, Fabian smiled at Nina.

"I love you," he told her, watching a matching smile creep up on her face.

And he meant it.
