As I Was Dreaming

As I was dreaming, not a care in the world I remembered I used to be like before I met you. I was angry and sad and a little bit blue, and I felt so alone I didn't know what to do.

Then I came to this school and it all slipped away. When I met all the people who are now my friends, as I listened to teachers who helped me no end, nothing compared to the feelings I got as I saw you that day.

You were happy and funny and friendly and keen, and your eyes had nothing on anyone I had seen. Your laugh is like music, your smile brightens my day and I am filled with sorrow whenever you are away.

But though it was hard when I found out the truth, you have left a great impact upon my youth. And as high school ends for the last time for me, as I walk into the sunset I will never look back as I remember the time spent with you and I will be filled with glee.

And then I woke up.
