I heard Thrunduil's sigh before he entered arrived in the library. I glanced at him over the top of the book I am reading before going back to reading about proper courting etiquette. I was soon to be of age to start courting, and father doesn't want me to make a fool of his family. It is a boring read, but better than being in the courts right now. Royal court dealings bore me to sleep.
"What has Lucius done this time?" I queried after my brother sighed a second time. It is well known that Lucius annoys Thranduil every chance he can. I am the oldest, Thranduil 3 years to my junior and Lucius 3 years to his junior.
"Our brother decided that he would continue his sword training in my room this morning." He answered. I couldn't stop the laugh that erupted from me. Oh Goddess, payback for Thranduil using my ceiling as his arrow target practice. "It's not funny." Thranduil muttered as he sat down.
"Oh, my dear brother, it is. Have you forgotten I have an arrow of yours still in my ceiling?" I quiered as I place my book on the table in front of me. He huffed at me, causing me to snicker.
Our mother popped in stopping any further conversation between us. She stood in front of my brother with a stern look upon her face.
"What have you done to your brother?" She demanded. I took up my discarded book again, not wanting to be lectured myself. "Don't think you're not in trouble either Jareth," She said not looking at me. "I noticed your little prank in the gardens this morning."
Well, bollocks! I thought as Thranduil snickered. Our mother then began her lecturing the pair of us for several hours.
