Hello people out there! I'm super excited to share the first chapter of my first fanfiction about DARVEY with you! It's kind of a concept what the days after 816 could be like. I know it's not the best but don't judge me, English is not my main language and yeah. So, I hope you like it anyway! x -Leonie

First Chapter - Then It Happened

The noises of her old coffee machine wakes her from a dream she didn't allowed herself to have for a long time. She opens her eyes and jumpes out of her bed as fast as her exhausted body allowed her, realizing step by step that her "dream" was way more than that – probably the most realistic thing she has ever had. Something she wished for so long.

Nearly falling over a pair of shoes, she runs through her living room into her kitchen just to see him standing there, making coffee for both of them as if it would be the most usual thing he has ever done. She is so shocked about the fact that he's really standing in the kitchen, in her kitchen, looking in her hazel eyes he mentioned so often last night and just being as overhelmed with his feelings as she is.

"I thought I could make us some coffee, you know. Uhmmm…I couldn't find the vanilla so it's just with some milk", he mumbled so shy, while handing her out one of the cups.

She has never seen him like that before. Tears are making their way through her closed eyes. She just relizes they are, as she opens them 'cause of feeling his thumb on her cheek removing her tears. Only one touch of him fills her whole body with a warmth only he can give her. She missed that so much and she realized it just now.

"Better later than never", she repeats the thoughts in her head.

He brings two of his fingers to her chin, making her look deep in his eyes.

"Hey. Don't cry. Everything is okay, Donna. We're here, together", he whispers, hanging on a silent "finally".

But it was loud enough and reason enough for her to come closer to him, putting down the cup she's still holding, to lay her arms around his neck and nodding slowly. As he wants to take her in his embrace she brings her lips to his and they collide with even more passion than the night before. Still being carefully with each other, he lifts her up and presses her body – which is just dressed with black, laced pants against the wall in her bedroom. The blanket she had around her upper body was left in the kitchen, so was his shirt.

"Harvey. We need to. Talk", she mumbles between his kisses down her neck, not able to have one clear thought she surprised herself by saying something smart like that.

He let her down carefully while caressing her arms. In the moment he wants to answer, both of them wince because somebody knocks at the door.

"Who is it?", he askes a little uneasy. "Are you expecting someone?"

"Oh trust me, the last time a was alone with myself I cried into a glass of wine don't wanting to see anybody but you. And then you came sooo. No, I am not expecting someone", she answers giving him a quick kiss on the cheek as she puts over her bathrobe to open the door with the expectation of seeing the postman.

Goosebumps appearing on her whole body as she sees the man she successfully forgot the last day.

"Thomas, what are you doing here? You know it's over, don't you?"

"I know, I do", he commits sadly, more to himself than to her.

The sound of her wooden floor cracking breaks their uncomfortable silent.

"Aren't you alone?", he askes quite gingerly trying to have a look in her apartment.

"Actually…", she starts but couldn't finish, because Harvey appears behind her, laying his right arm around her waist and finishing her sentence with a short and clear "No".

Thomas tries to cover his feelings that are a mix of being surprised but mostly angry.

"Harvey! Nice to see you again."

"Yeah, save that!", the lawyer answers more fiercely than before, "Now get the fuck out!"

"Harvey!", Donna kicks him in his stomach which makes him moan.

Thomas watches the two of them for a few moments until he pronounces, "So you two know each quite well, don't you?"

Donna, who expected not a speech like that answers, "Yes, we do. Uhmm, you know we've been working together for thirteen years…"

"And then it happened", Thomas finishes her sentence as he leaves the building.
