Author's Note: Hi, everyone! This is my first time writing fanfiction for this show but after last night's ending, I felt like writing a little Clace blurb to make myself feel better. If you haven't watched the finale yet, be aware that there are spoilers here.

This takes place right at the end of the finale.

"What are these tattoos on your neck?" Clary asked the familiar stranger. She hesitantly traced the outline along Jace's neck and he turned to her and smiled. That smile, she knew she had seen it before. She knew that she had felt his skin before. Suddenly, a memory rushed through her head.

They were slow dancing. Her head rested on his collar bone while he poured his heart out to her. His hand felt soft against her bare back despite the scars that he had. She was wearing a low cut dress made of smooth fabric that felt light against her skin.

Clary snapped back to reality and shivered slightly as she remembered the chill in the air that night one year ago, when she found herself wandering alone through the park wearing that same dress. But how did she get there?

The smile on Jace's face began to fade and she noticed him start to shift uncomfortably.

"I, uh...should probably get going." Jace said as he cleared his throat. "But it was nice to see you again, Clary." He didn't want to leave, but he didn't want to push his luck with the angel. She remembered his name, so maybe she would remember more, he hoped. Just as he turned to walk away, he heard Clary gasp in surprise. He instinctively turned around and noticed her wincing in pain as she held her own arm. "Are you okay?" he asked, his voice full of concern.

"What the..." Clary stammered as she looked down at her arm. An orange, fiery outline began to appear. It was an angelic rune. The orange faded to black and the sting began to fade. Her knees began to quiver as she began to faint. Jace caught her and knelt down on the ground beside her.

"Clary? Clary!?" He pleaded. His words became softer as her mind drifted away. Clary saw a bright light appear and suddenly, Raziel stood before her.

"Who are you?" She asked the figure, squinting her eyes as she stared into the light.

"It has been one year since you disobeyed the order of the angel." Raziel stated flatly, without answering her question.

"The...angel? Am I dead?" Clary asked frantically.

"Your punishment was necessary, but because of your selfless sacrifice, you have been forgiven. You must always remember that it is your duty to obey the wishes of the angels." Raziel continued. At this point, Clary thought that she had totally lost her mind. She had no idea what this person...or thing...was talking about. Before she could respond, the figure disappeared and the light disappeared with him.

"Clary, wake up. Please." She heard Jace's voice again. She slowly opened her eyes and saw herself in the alley. Jace hovered over her and breathed a sigh of relief.

"Jace." Clary whispered.

"Yeah?" Jace responded with a hopeful smile.

"Do...do you still love me?" She asked. Jace dropped his head and laughed for the first time in a long time.

"Until the day I die. Remember?" He asked.

"I remember." She smiled. He leaned down and kissed her softly. She broke the kiss for a moment. She was still feeling light headed.

"May I?" Jace asked as he pulled his stele out from his pocket. She nodded and angled her head so Jace could draw an Iratze rune on her neck, just like the one he drew years ago when he first met her. "Are you okay now?" Jace asked as he put his stele back in his pocket.

"Now that I have everything I need." She said and she leaned in to kiss him again.
