It was Halloween at Tarrytown Airport.

All the planes were excited, as that meant the annual Halloween party would be held. It was held in the planes' hanger. There was to be Halloween games, delicious food, awesome decorations and spooky costumes.

But that was the part of the party that Snuffy was most frightened of.

He thought the costumes looked far too scary, and he also thought that they were real.

Poor Snuffy was very frightened by them indeed.

...

He decided he wasn't going to take part when he saw Brenda's costume.

She decided to go as Amelia Earhart, who had been a female pilot who disappeared whilst going round the middle of the world in her plane.

In order to pull it off, she had painted her face white and pale, and wore her grandfather's flight goggles. She also wore a leather jacket and beige trousers.

Brenda had been pinning up streamers on the walls of the hanger when Snuffy cautiously peeked in to see what was happening at that point.

She had turned round to say hello when he saw her goggles.

He thought she had developed a new strange pair of alien eyes!

Panicking, he fled the hanger.

...

Poor Snuffy was whimpering and shaking in fright outside the hanger, when suddenly, he heard a familiar voice.

It was Jay Jay! His best friend will help him!

"Jay Jay?"

"What's the matter Snuffy?" Jay Jay inquired, concerned for his best friend.

"I'm...Im scared." revealed the green skywriter.

"Of what?"

"I'm scared of all those costumes -they look so real..." Whimpered the small skywriter.

"But they're not," Jay Jay said kindly. "There's not need to worry Snuffy. It's only pretend. People just dress up to be what they want to be."

"So, it's just them pretending?" Asked Snuffy.

"Yes- here, Brenda sent me out to get jelly and ice cream for the party. Would you like to come with me?" Offered Jay Jay.

"Yes," said Snuffy. "I would like to come with you."

And when the party was held later, Snuffy was no longer afraid of the costumes- because, thanks to Jay Jay, he knew that people were only pretending.

And pretending is nothing to be scared of.
