A Turnabout For Tomorrow

The Time for a New Case

Apollo Justice laid back on the Wright Anything Agency's couch, in front of the T.V. He was waiting for a very special news report regarding the launch of the HAT-2 rocket. Apollo's best friend, Clay Terran would be riding in that rocket, all the way up to the stars. It was something they'd dreamed of for ages, Apollo being a lawyer and Clay going to space as an astronaut. The two would talk well into the night about their future dreams, never getting tired of it. Today was the day for Clay's dream to come true, like Apollo's has.

Just then, Athena walked into the agency (After being missing all morning) with a burning question. "So Apollo, when are you going to introduce me to your new friend?" She asked. "When he gets back from space, his launch should be on the news any minute now," Apollo answered. "Ooh, cool! Can I watch?" Athena asked. Before Apollo could answer, the yellow defence attorney sat herself down beside the red one, eyes locking on the television. There, they watched a few stories on other things, like a few of the trials they participated in, and the stories covering them in the media. Though, an hour passed, and there was nothing on the HAT-2 launch. "That's weird. They should've launched the rocket by now," Apollo commented. "What's the hold-up?" Athena asked rhetorically. That's when the phone rang. Apollo went to answer it.

"Wright Anything Agency, Apollo Justice speaking!" He told the person on the other end of the phone, peppy as ever. Though the skip in Apollo's step was about to make him trip and fall when he heard who called. "Hey Apollo, it's me. Solomon Starbuck," the caller answered. "Sol, shouldn't you be in space by now?" Apollo asked, shocked. "Yeah, well… something happened before we could properly launch. Something big. Now I need a lawyer," Starbuck answered. "Is Clay alright? He's assigned to that rocket, too," Apollo asked. "Look…Clay he…." Apollo could hear Starbuck ready to cry. Something big did happen, and it was something involving Clay. "He's the….v-victim….of a…murder and….I'm being fingered as the culprit!" A very distraught Starbuck exclaimed.

Apollo went silent. Clay was murdered. Solomon Starbuck was being fingered as the murderer. The red clad defence attorney felt his heart sink to the floor. No, he couldn't cry now! Starbuck needed him. Clay needed him to find his murderer, the real murderer. "Mr. Starbuck, I promise to defend you in court. You need to go to space, for Clay's sake!" Apollo told the astronaut. "Thanks Apollo, I know I can count on you to find the truth!" Sol answered. Apollo hung the phone up.

"Come on, Athena! We've got to head to the Cosmos Space Center, to investigate a murder!" Apollo declared to his co-worker. "Cosmos Space Center, huh? Well vamos! Let's do this!" Athena answered. Apollo didn't know for sure, but he thought he felt Athena being tense when bringing the location up. He shrugged it off as Athena's usual excitement, and prepared to find Clay's murderer, and save Starbuck!

Little did he know that this cosmic turnabout would be the first step into a swirling pool of doubt, putting his mind and body to the limit.
