Hello there,
This is my first Sword Art Online story. Well... this is a adaption of a story called "SAO: 10100110" by Bankertx01 they sort of gave up on it so I took on the chance to rewrite it with a few changes of course. It Will go in different direction, but time will tell.
So here you go.

Chapter 1: A Character's Death and Rebirth
A party of three of the guild «Knights of the Blood Oath» were walking along one of the dungeons on [Floor 55]. The party leader, a scruffy-bearded man named Godfree was leading his subordinates/party members, Kuradeel and Kirito through the dungeon for a training/bonding exercise for the two. While Godfree was having a blast, the other two weren't enjoying one's company one bit.
Kirito especially was feeling extremely uncomfortable at the moment. Not only was he in a party with Kuradeel, Asuna's former body guard, but walking in an possibly empty dungeon on [Floor 55] for hours on end. They did ran into a few monsters, but Kirito quickly dispatch with little to no fun. To make matters worse, Godfree force the two the give up their healing and teleportation crystals for no good reason. Wearing a flashy «KoB» uniform was somewhat tolerable, but this was just cruel. Maybe he should've stick with to being a solo throughout 《Sword Art Online》 then again it was his idea to face Heathcliff in the first place.
"Alright ladies, lets take a break!" Godfree called. Kirito and Kuradeel sighed in relief as they sat on nearby stones. At least they can agreed on getting this ridiculous exercise over with.
"Here's lunch!" He said as he tossed two bags to the others in his party. Kirito sighed in disappointment to see that the sandwich inside was just two loaves of bread with the most lamest ingredients ever. Oh, how he already misses the taste of Asuna's delicious sandwiches.
Kirito sighed again as he took a swing of his water canteen. Just then out of the corner of his eyes, he caught a glance of Kuradeel smiling so menacing.
Kirito eyes widen sensing something was wrong. He chuck the canteen as far away from him as possible as it landed on the ground and shattered into polygons. But it was already too late, Kirito sees Godfree collapses face first. He soon came after with his entire upper body unable to move on the rock he was sitting.
'We've been poisoned!' Kirito realized, seeing that the paralysis has been activated.
"Paralysis!" He said cried out. Just then, Kuradeel was laughing like a twisted maniac. Kirito couldn't help but feel fearfully of what he could possibly so.
"What the hell, Kuradeel! You packed the water, what's going on here?" Godfree asked, struggling to get up.
"Godfree… antidote crystal...hurry!" Kirito gasped. Godfree reached into his back pocket, grabbing the crystal and was about to use it when Kuradeel kicked it away.
"Poor.. old.. Godfree," Kuradeel taunted so slowly, "I knew you were an idiot, but this just takes the cake!" He said insanely as he took out his blade and hit him, making his marker go from green to orange. Kirito watch in horror as Godfree's health begin to rapidly drop.
"So here's my plan," Kuradeel starts, "We were attacked by a bunch of rouge players. You two fought valiantly, but the numbers got to you and you were slain. But thanks to your efforts, I was able to defeat them and avenge you. So rest in peace! He-he-heh!" He laughed as he hit Godfree again and again before he stabbed him through the back.
"NOOOOOooo!" Godfree screamed as he then burst into polygons. Kuradeel heave from his work before turned toward his next victim – Kirito.
"Well, well, well. I just killed an innocent bystander because of you," he chuckled, starting to walking toward the infamous solo player.
"From the looks of things you were having a blast." Kirito said, keeping a straight face. "Why are you here? You be better in one of the criminal guilds."
"Oh, how nice you noticed." Kuradeel said so sickly as he took off his hand brace, exposing his tattoo.
"Your… your part of «Laughing Coffin», the murder guild!" Kirito breathed.
"Yes, that where I got the ability to stun bastards like you. Oh, I should stop talking before the poison wears off. We don't want you getting cold feet now, do we?" Kuradeel said, raising his blade toward Kirito. "NOW DIE!"
He forcefully stabbed the blade in Kirito's right leg. Kirito flinch at the impact, but didn't feel much pain than it should be. Out of the corner of his eyes, he looked to see his health diminishing rapidly.
'The poisons not wearing off!' He thought fearfully as Kuradeel then stabbed his other leg. Kirito try to struggle, hoping he could at least hold him off. But this became inevitable when the made man then stab his chest, his health depleting in the red.
'…well… I guess, this is it.' He closed his eyes, preparing for the worst to come. 'Goodbye guys...'
Just then, an image of Asuna flash into his mind. No.. he didn't want to die, not until he see Asuna again as promised. He grabbed the blade of Kuradeel's sword trying to pull it out of his chest. Kuradeel saw this before smiling.
"What's the matter…afraid of dying after all?" He asked amusing.
"No...I'm just...not ready yet." Kirito said gasping out.
Kuradeel just laughs. "Is that so… well then, THAT'S THE WAY I LIKE IT! Die… Die… DIE!" He yelled, pushing the blade further into the swordsman chest.
Kirito tried to pull the sword out, but it was too late. His sight fades to red as he see his health bar vanish.
[YOU ARE DEAD]
With blinding light, Kirito vanished into polygons and was never to be seen again.
Kuradeel have already left the scene by the time sub commander Asuna came around the corner. Asuna look around frantically for any sign of life, seeing that Kuradeel nor Kirito was nowhere to be in site. She knew that something was wrong when Kuradeel's sensor turned orange. She ran as fast as she can to their location when Godfree's sensor vanished from her map. She hoped and prayed that she should at least make it to save her friend in time. But it was too late.
Asuna didn't have to check her map to see that Kirito was gone. She dropped onto her knees, her eyes void of any emotion. Kirito was dead and will never see him again. What was she going to do now her friend was gone? After a moment of silence, she gets up and turn on her heel walk back to HQ. She has to stay strong if she's going to survive in this death game - for Kirito. But first things first, she need to find Kuradeel. His icon on the map disappear as soon as Kirito's. She wish she knew what her ex-bodyguard is up to, but she still need to find him.
He has a lot of explaining to do.
You woke up suddenly as your eyes were open now. You feel as this was the first time from an unknown slumber. You seem to be floating in a void.
{What… what is this place?}
{This darkness…}
It wasn't completely in darkness. Yellow numbers of 1's and 0's in binary form float around you in many directions. You were in a system. You somehow knew that.
Then you realize something.
{Wait… this is suppose to be 《Sword Art Online》.}
You suddenly knew what this game was, what the system was capable of to all of those players.
{Then… why am I here?}
You try to look for answers, but nothing seem to came in mind. The system must have a reason placing you here. But why now?
{I need to move.}
You struggle to move you think was your body. You were able to move something to your right, but something not right. It was cover in the same binary code, only more clustered to able to resemble a some sort of organic shape.
{Is this suppose to be my arm?}
You look closer and you were able to see what look like an outline.
{This is definitely my arm.}
{But… why am I covered in code?}
{…who am I, exactly?}
Suddenly, a blinding light cover you. You can feel the system placing you in the game. As the light began to die down, you now see yourself in one the floors in the large town. Luckily, no one seem to be around as it was nighttime.
{… Floor 23, huh?}
{Wait… what am I even wearing?}
You look down to find yourself wearing a white trench coat with red accents and everything else were normal clothes. You also have two swords on your back. The heaviness seem vaguely familiar.
{Huh, I'm seen to be wearing a [KoB] uniform.}
{Still, who am I?}
You open up your menu and try to access your inventory, but you came across an error.
[Unable to open due to system error. Please try again]
{What is going on?}
The menu in front of you is still open. You search for any information that might help you. The only thing that stand out was your username and level:
[Name: ?]
[Level: 63]
{Now what?}
You pondered for a bit before you notice that it was getting dark.
{Guess I'll find an inn.}
You left to find nearby inn. You still don't know why you are here.
Yet… you want to.
Well- that went well. I don't know where this would me, but this is worth a shot. stay tune
