'Left Over Traces of the Dead'
Tenth Doctor Duplicate's point of view
I find myself one afternoon, in the library reading Educating Rita. Wondering why I chose this book I skip to page fifty four. Wondering down the page, I find a poem and my mouth drops open.
"O Rose, thou art sick! The invisible worm That flies in the night, In the howling storm, Has found out thy bed Of crimson joy: And his dark secret love Does thy life destroy."
"ROSE!" I shout as I accidentally drop the book, she comes in her blonde hair falling gently over her face showing her bright blue eyes. "Yes John?" She asks me smiling, I roll my eyes at her before showing her the page. "So what?" She asks me rather rudely. "Read the poem by William Blake!" I mention quickly to her.
She repeats the poem out loud, her eyes dilate quickly. "You think the Doctor had something to do with this?" I ask her gently, I smile seeing her face lit up with joy. "Obviously!" She shouts at me grinning an impossible grin, it's as if her grin is as wide from ear to ear. "Do you know what it means?" I question her further.
Rose's point of view
I know what it means, it means he still thinks of me, but it makes him sad, the black hole that nearly sucked me up, if it wasn't for Pete Tyler who came just before the end. In the middle of losing me, he's glad I've found joy. That I'm his dark secret love, and it destroys him inside that I can't be with him.
"Not one clue." I whisper looking straight into John's eyes, knowing that's the first and last lie I'll ever tell him.
