Excuses, Excuses
Jack Hodgins was frustrated. No, confused, which caused his frustration. So here he was speeding down the highway towards agent Booth and Dr. Brennan's house. Angela was currently on a 'baby and me art retreat' of some sort with his son Michael. He was still unsure why he agreed and why he didn't join them. He wouldn't be speeding down the damn highway on his way to help his co-workers. He didn't even fully understand why. He was in a train of thought so deep, he didn't realize he was speeding way over the limit. Until he was being pulled over by a cop. Hodgins pulled over and rolled down the window and pulled out his license and registration awaiting the ticket.
"hello officer" he said to the man
"hello sir, license and…"
"registration" he passed it off to the officer.
"why were you in such a hurry you were speeding?"
Hodgins thought for a moment, thinking of just saying to help out a friend. But those were not the words to come out of his mouth.
"where do I start? Probably about seven maybe eight years ago?"
the officer looked at him funny. But Hodgins didn't stop.
"I mean its all Dr. B and Booth's fault! They just HAD to be partners and ignore sexual tension for years! I mean first it was there and they saw it then hated each other, became partners, killed some people, solved some murders, became friends that were in love with each other, had faith in one another, solved more murders, went undercover, saved each others lives, killed for another, pretended to die, killed some more people, solved more murders, caught a few serial killers, left each other, came back, Booth admitted feelings, Brennan turned him down, left all of us, came back, solved more murders, caught more killers then POP! Brennan's pregnant Booth's the father, no one but my wife had a clue that they even slept together! Solve more murders, have a baby in a stable, then go and catch more killers! All while scaring interns and driving us all insane! Now here I am getting a ticket for speeding after I got a cryptic call from them telling me to come over because they don't know who else to contact for the problem!"
the officer blinked at him flabbergasted. "You have some issues. That is the craziest excuse I have ever heard to get out of a parking ticket"
"I hate to say it but I am being serious" Hodgins said quietly when the officer went to print out his ticket. Hodgins then heard his cell ring.
You don't have to come now Hodgins, we got it under control.-Brennan
'great' he thought. As the officer handed him his papers and bided him a good evening.
Hodgins shook his head and laughed to himself as he pulled out back onto the highway to head back home. He received a message that was more confusing than some of their worst cases, got a speeding ticket and then was told he was no longer needed. Angie will find this hilarious was the only thought on his mind as he headed back home.
