So this was inspired partly because of something we'd been keeping track of online recently, and partly because a drabble I was writing for a LiveJournal challenge that became clear it was going to be longer than one hundred words.

Penny's jaw dropped in shock. Here?

She hadn't expected it to happen like this. She hadn't expected it to happen at all, really, at least not this soon. And here?

These things often happened in a restaurant, perhaps the site of the first date. But they weren't there. They weren't in the park, where they'd spent so many evenings walking. They weren't anywhere that would seem romantic to anyone else. They were just here.

But the more she thought about it, the more it makes sense. It was here that they'd first laid eyes on each other, here where she'd given him that first, short kiss on the cheek. It was here she had seen him and his friends arguing about the fate of his action figures and comic books; where he'd told her that he was done focusing solely on Nerdvana and was ready to move on with his life. She'd held onto that sentence, and the meaning she'd taken from it, ever since it had happened years ago.

Here was where they'd watched each other while making out with other people, both wanting to make the other jealous and both knowing that the other was attempting to do the exact same thing. The same spot was where he was standing talking to Sheldon, without the hat on, when she'd come out of her apartment unexpectedly and seen the what Kurt had written before he had a chance to cover it up. It was here that she'd put her arms around him and never wanted to let go, feeling the outline of his jacket through the fluffy blue material.

It was here he'd given her the gift, that precious gift, after three months apart that felt more like three years. It was here that they'd come home from their double date with Howard and Bernadette and discussed the safety of having sex at the bottom of the elevator shaft (they'd decided against it). Behind her was the site of their first kiss. Behind him was the place he'd first told her he loved her.

Yes, it was here. It had to be here. It was unexpected and probably unprecedented and unbelievably perfect. Just like everything with her and Leonard ended up being. She wasn't sure if he had put this much thought into location or if it seemed right, right here, right now. But at this moment, right here, she didn't care. Whether by chance or by choice, this was easily the best thing that had ever happened here.

She looked down at him and touched his hands with her own, her thumb hitting the little object that he held. She dropped on her knees in front of him and smiled broadly as the happy tears came and almost choked back her answer. "Yes."

I know they got eliminated from the Engagement Countdown, but hey, they were there, and a lot of couples weren't! So I had to write this…and elaborate more than LJ would let me.

Review, please. And you know, if it could be more than one word that'd be great.
