They say... the plumb-bob, is a sign of our creation, our life.
Only a select few, myself and other scientists know that is not the case. It is not a symbol of our will, our freedom.
It's a symbol of enslavement.
We learned this a span of several years ago when the first "game" came out. We saw Sims around us, start having green crystals begin to float above the their heads.
Panic ensued but we calmed down thinking it would smooth over, that it would end.
But it Didn't.
Overtime our numbers shrank. The majority of Sims became mindless, just mere playthings to be controlled, controlled by the player.
We learned, after much research about what was happening. In a separate dimension a computer game was made to protrude into our world. People in that dimension would play the game, and unknowingly enslave scientist would called them Simmers others, like myself, called them players, the official name is undecided.
Some players were malicious, they would torment and kill Sims for their own amusement. Since I monitored the controlled Sims throughout the world I got to here them, and their gut-wrenching screams as the Reaper took them.
Some people in my office were not free, but at work they were away from the plumb-bob's reach of control. For that we were thankful. Several of those people would be asked and interrogated about what happened when they were under control. The answers varied. Most Sims said they blacked out. Other Sims said that they were aware but couldn't control themselves and were forced to do things against there will. If the player was slightly kind (or unaware of the options menu),the Sims had freewill, of course they still had to do as told.
Overtime each game would have "expansions" Things got strange. From Cow-eating plants, to Mermaids, Vampires, and Werewolves things got out of hand. Then came the Sims 3 pets expansion which I slightly resent. It gave us Pets, but when it was released stole their free will also.
I'd be a liar if I said there weren't good things in this mess.
If a family, or Sim was lucky, They'd get a kind player controlling them. The Sim, and pets would have free will, and be treated with things that would normally have a good outcome when controlled.
Some of these Sims thought of this type of player as a Guardians.
And I guess, I can respect that. Some kind Sims would use hacks to make things better. There was a flip side to this players were just downright crazy. I'm not kidding, They make Sims do things that are just nuts while not intending to kill Sims, they don't exactly care either.
I guess, Players are a lot like Sims themselves, they had their quirks and traits. It's odd, how as I keep typing my report that I realize we are all much alike almost the same, just in different dimensions.
